Expert verdict
To be honest, there’s not much to dislike about bet365 sportsbook. This comes as no surprise as it’s easily NZ’s second most popular sportsbook at this time. Most of this is due to the fact that it offers a ton of sports betting options.
Not only that though, but it also has very competitive odds, keeping it on a level with other sportsbooks in New Zealand. Alongside this, the betting site offers live betting and live streaming, both of which help to enhance the gaming experience.
Adding to the fun are a number of different betting bonuses, most of which don’t need a bonus code to claim. The support is good too, though it would be even better if Kiwis were offered a phone line.
Rounding things off, there are a number of excellent betting features, including the bet builder feature, the chance to use an early payout offer through the cash out feature and a whole lot more.
Bonuses at bet365 NZ
Okay, so we’re putting them here first as this is the first thing you’re going to be looking for when you go to a new site. That’s right, the bonuses and what you can get when wagering on bet365 football and other sports. We all know that the bonus is one of the best ways to get ahead, so let’s see exactly what bet365 offers.
Kicking things off is a pretty great welcome offer that gives Kiwi players a 100% match on their first deposit up to NZ$100 in bet credits. This does mean that you can double your bankroll from the off. Make sure that you use the bonus code when required otherwise you won’t be able to get it.
You can also claim free bets on many sports bet365 offers as well. To claim these free bets, make sure that you have made a qualifying bet otherwise, you may lose that bet and any bet credits you have gained.

Importantly, you don’t actually need a bonus code to claim the welcome bonus bet credits. All you need to do is sign up and then click on the claim button. This is the same for any additional bet credits and bonuses you gain as a long-term member.
Bonus rating
- Good bet credits promotion
- Low wagering requirements
- Not many additional offers
I was very happy to see that there is a good welcome bonus available at bet365 just like on Royal Panda sportsbook. It’s a great way to boost your bankroll from the outset and can be used on a variety of bets including in play sports betting.
However, it’s only awarded as bet credits, which means that when you do win, you can only claim the profit rather than all the funds. That being said, I’m not really complaining as there are 1x wagering requirements in place, just like at BetVictor.
When it comes to other sports betting bonuses, plenty of additional bet bonuses are listed under the Offers tab. These are mainly accumulator bonuses, substitute or retirement guarantees, early payout offers and more over a range of sports.
All bonuses do come with minimum deposit amount requirements, but that’s to be expected. There is also a minimum odds requirement too, but at 1.20 (1/5), this is really not that bad, so I won’t quibble here.
Bet365 sports and markets: 40+ options
Right, so now we move on to the essential stuff. That’s right, and it’s time to look at what sports betting options you have here at bet365. A complete range of betting markets is a must to get a high score with us.
Typically, we’re looking for sportsbooks with betting markets with at least 20 different sports available. Bet365 blows that out of the water with a whopping 43 sports betting options to sift through.
The site also has several different popular sports available, from horse racing, rugby union and football to more niche options ranging from winter sports to beach volleyball, as well as a variety of specials and live betting options.

Although this is all about the Kiwi market, it’s important to note that this UK-based sports betting site does have an emphasis on football. That’s not to say that other areas are neglected though. Keep reading to find out more in our bet365 sports review.

Sports & markets rating
- Popular sports
- Many leagues and tournaments
- Variety of entertainment specials
- Football-heavy content
I can’t quibble here at all when it comes to the sports options available. Not only that, but the betting markets are insane. I mean, all I did was to check out a single football match and there were more than 170 betting markets on offer. This leaves betting sites like PlayUp, with an average of 20 betting markets per sport, just dead in the water!
Okay, so the site is a little football-heavy, featuring all the top football tournaments such as the English Premier League and Champions League. But other sports are well-represented as well. For instance, there is a lot going on when it comes to Australian racing for both horses and greyhounds.
I was also impressed by the large number of more unusual betting options and sports available. Some of these include winter sports, and, of course, the option to bet on a variety of political events and entertainment specials from around the globe.
As such, I can’t complain here and had to give this one of the higher scores out there. It beats every other sportsbook in the country too, and yes, that’s even the likes of Betway Sports’ offering of 35 sports.
Additional market details: Rugby union is one of the top sports in the country, and plenty is going on here. Agreed, a lot of this is dependent on the time of the year, but if you’re happy putting the Super Rugby aside for a moment, then there are a ton of European events on offer, too, including the Six Nations and United Rugby Championship.
Additional market details: Popular in NZ and Australia, cricket also has a strong set of options here. Depending on the time of year, 5-day or T20 tournaments are going on. Of course, there’s a strong focus on the Big Bash, too, with some of the best odds going.
Sports betting features
Everything continues on very strongly here when it comes to the betting features available at bet365. After all, it’s no point offering a range of different sports but then not having any good features to match that with.
Bet365 has all the top betting features we would expect a sportsbook of this calibre to offer. And, all of these are easily accessible so that players can get their hands on them efficiently.
For instance, there’s a quick cashout option available on many bets so that you can get a small profit even before the game is up. And yes, live betting is an option with some sports available for live streaming as well.

This sportsbook does fall down in some areas though. While there is a strong bet builder, there are no real system bets in place, nor is there a betting exchange. But, neither of these are really missed.
Betting features rating
- User-friendly tools
- Live-streaming available
- Well-organised in play section
- Only parlays for system bets
Again, this was another section where I was able to give bet365 a strong score. It’s becoming easier and easier really. But that’s simply because the site really does cater to all you can think of.
Everything here is set out with the player in mind, which I really like. For instance, the bet builder is excellent, and user-friendly for even the newest players. Though, I will say that NEDs might just pip bet365 when it comes to the top bet builder out there.
Being able to cashout is still a massive plus and MyBookie should take note as it doesn’t offer this feature yet. Additionally, bet365 even gives some nice explanations as to why it’s a helpful option to have — you can potentially get a profit even before the game has ended.
Bet365 also has a very strong in play section that is also accessible on the mobile site giving it added points here. On top of that, you can enjoy the streaming of some games too, all free of charge. However, to be eligible, you must have funded or placed a bet within the last 24 hours. I think that’s fair.
I was also happy to find that there are some detailed information and sports analytics available too. This is perfect for those starting out who might need a bit of help getting to grips with all the jargon.
Additional features: The bet builder is an essential tool relating to the success of this site. There’s one for several different sports and each can be found on the right side of the sports section. For instance, there is a tennis bet builder allowing up to 12 selections giving you the most personalised bet option out there. It’s also available on the mobile platform as well.
Bet365 online sports betting odds
One of the main things we do with all of our sportsbook reviews is check out the payout percentages and the odds that are available. And, bet365 actually looks to be on the better end of things.
Generally, we’re looking for sportsbooks to have payout percentages anywhere from 95% to 97% if we’re going to give them the top score. Anything around the 93% mark is considered low and won’t score as well.
It’s lucky then that bet365 sits very close to this, just shy of the 95% mark. However, this is the average with some specific sports actually coming in a lot higher than that.
Odds facts
Category | Details |
---|---|
Average payout | 94.90% |
Boosted odds | Yes |
Parlay boosts | Yes |

As with most sportsbooks, we’ve found that the in play percentage is a lot lower than the more traditional odds. It’s similar here to most betting sites, dropping just a percentage point or two for in play wagers.
Odds rating
- High football payouts
- Consistent best odds
- Easy to see min odds
- Lower in-play payouts
I am continuing to remain impressed with what bet365 offers to players. This is exactly what I hoped to see when it came to the odds and payouts at such a strong site.
Payouts here are slap in the middle of what I like to see. Impressively, some sports like football actually go above and beyond with more than 98% as the payout percentage, provided these are bets placed on the day.
Across the board though, Bet365 really does a great job making sure that all their odds are very competitive. It really puts Ladbrokes to shame in this area with its average payouts of just 93.5%.
There’s great value on every bet. And, I did find that the site really outperformed the majority of the other Kiwi sportsbooks across a large number of sports, which really impressed me.
Additionally, I liked the fact that any odds displayed on the site did not have to be manually refreshed. Instead, like MyBookie, the site does it for you so that the very latest odds are always displayed.
Payment methods
Often overlooked, checking out the payment methods offered by a sportsbook is vital if you want to play at the best site. At bet365 there are just six payment methods available to you.
Generally though, we score higher if there are more than ten different options available, so six is rather low. In short, it doesn’t provide you with quite the range of different options another site would.
That being said, it’s got a great minimum and maximum range for both deposits and withdrawals. For instance, the minimum deposit limits are just NZ$10 across the board, which is the same as the minimum withdrawal amount.

As we have come to expect from any good sports betting site, there are no fees in place at all. This goes for both withdrawals and deposits. Additionally, there are some good turnaround times available with instant deposits and withdrawals that can take up to 5 days. All of these methods can be found on the mobile betting site and apps as well.

Payments rating
- Low minimum limits
- Fee free transactions
- Limited withdrawal options
- No e-Wallets
I can’t really complain about bet365’s payment methods apart from the fact that I’d like more of them! And, noticeably, there are no eWallets on offer, which does mean that the average withdrawal time is pretty slow.
For instance, LeoVegas Sports, while slightly slower, has an average withdrawal time no longer than 3 days whereas here it’s up to five. And, LeoVegas even offers Skrill and Neteller as options, but there’s nothing like that at bet365.
Outside of this, I found everything pretty standard. There are no fees in place for any of the payment methods or transaction types. I would recommend that you check this from your bank’s side thought, just in case they do charge fees.
I was impressed with the wide range when it came to the minimum and maximum transaction values. The low minimum deposit of NZ$10 means that even budget players can enjoy placing a bet, though Sportsbet accepts an even lower minimum deposit of just NZ$5. But, the high max caters well to the high rollers. No complaints here.
Safety features
This is one of the highest priorities for us, and it should be for you too. After all, you don’t want to be playing somewhere that might be about to take your money from you.
With that in mind, we always want to see that a sportsbook is fully licensed, preferably from a top jurisdiction such as the UKGC or the MGA. Luckily, bet365 is licensed with both.
Additionally, it’s great to see that there is RNG auditing in place to ensure that everything is running fairly and smoothly. This is particularly essential when virtual sports betting is also involved.

Safety rating
- SSL encrypted
- Award-winning site
- Strong responsible gaming tools
- Low SSL encryption
This is a really solid entry when it comes to security and safety. It’s really hard for me to give this a higher score though, as there is nothing special about what is offered.
Yes, all the usual and expected security tools are in place and this includes responsible gaming protocols, 2-step authentication and the use of a four digit security number when logging in on a new device.
But, there’s nothing really extra. And, given the fact that Ladbrokes operates under a whopping 2048-bit encryption, the 128-bit on bet365 is rather lacking. That’s not to say that it isn’t enough, it’s just not above and beyond.
All the security protocols and features are carried across all areas of the site though, which is a big plus. And, when it comes to responsible gaming, there are a number of different help lines you can get in touch with. It would be nice if bet365 could implement some of its own responsible gaming tools though, as LeoVegas has done.
Customer support: available in 17 languages
If a sports betting site is working smoothly, it’s very easy to overlook the fact that their support might not be as strong as it should be. However, this is something we always take the time to check out.
The best sites, in our opinion, are the ones that have three or more support options. These days, a live chat with a real person is a must if the sportsbook is to get a good score of any kind.
Bet365 NZ has two different contact options in the form of a live chat and email. If you’re in the UK, then there is a phone, but this doesn’t appear to be available to Kiwis unless you’re happy paying overseas charges!

There is an excellent Help Centre though. It’s well worth checking this out before endeavouring to get in touch with support staff. The support is available around the clock though, so there should be no trouble getting through.
Support rating
- Numerous languages available
- 24/7 live chat
- No phone for NZ players
Another solid entry from bet365 here. I was, again, happy to see that the minimum in terms of support was definitely provided here. Okay, so there are only two options not my preferred three like at NEDs, but these two do work well.
The live chat is available 24/7, and I didn’t need to log in to an account to access it, which I was mightily relieved to find. I was also happy to find that it was speedy too, unlike the rather slow response time of Betway.
Better still, if I wasn’t feeling inclined to get in touch with someone, bet365 does have an incredibly detailed help section. This covers most of the main questions without you ever needing to contact a staff member.
The only reason this doesn’t score higher is the lack of a phone line for Kiwis. A UK number is available for UK-based players, so it is an option bet365 is willing to provide. So, why not have one for the growing NZ market too?
Platform
For all players, it’s very important to be able to access all areas of the site no matter which platform you are using it from. With that in mind we always conclude our reviews with a quick check on usability.
The best sites will have the same design and layout across both the desktop and mobile site, which bet365 does. And, there is also an app available for both iOS and Android.
When it comes to navigation, once again bet365 comes out on top. There are sports filters, alphabetised sports and even a strong search function. Quick links can also be found down the side.

If this wasn’t enough, there are a number of other verticals included on the bet365 platform as well. These can be toggled to quickly and easily via the menu bar along the top of the main page.

Platform rating
- Speedy registration
- Strong mobile app
- Same features across platforms
- Basic design
I am beginning to sound like a broken record here, but bet365 has done it again. In terms of the betting platform, I really don’t have much to say with the exception that it’s a little basic and could do with a dark mode, which is something that 888Sport does well.
The mobile site is excellent and this goes for both the browser version and the app. The bet slip is very easy to use on the app, in fact, it’s a pared-down version so potentially even more straightforward than the desktop site.
Additionally, I found that all the same deposit options (including the ability to use a debit card), were present on the app. Like William Hill, another long-established UK-based site, I could also claim bonuses, get the best odds and a whole lot more when out and about.
Everything loads well too even with a slightly slow internet connection. The only time things took a bit longer was the verification process, but I am not going to complain about that as this is all for player safety anyway!
FAQs
Is bet365 a good sports betting site?
Yes, bet365 is an excellent sportsbook. This UK-based betting site has been around for decades and, as such, has a really strong platform in place. It offers one of the widest selections of sports incorporating everything from horse racing, rugby and football to more niche sports ranging from alpine skiing to water polo. It also caters to players who want to play out and about offering a strong mobile site as well as live betting options.
What is the minimum payout on bet365 sports?
The minimum withdrawal at bet365 is just NZ$10, which is one of the lowest out there for any betting site. This means that you don’t have to have a huge budget in order to play here. Impressively, the same is true for the min deposit requirement as well. That being said, if you do win big, you can still withdraw that too as there are some seriously high upper limits in place.
How do you withdraw money from bet365 sportsbook?
This is where bet365 does fall down somewhat. The site only has three different withdrawal methods in place and these are VISA, Mastercard and Fast Bank Transfer. For card payments, you can use either a debit card or a credit card though, which does help to increase the options available to you to withdraw money. There are more deposit options than withdrawal ones.
Is bet365 live streaming free?
Yes, if you want to enjoy the live streaming, or indeed the live betting, both are free to do so. Of course, you are likely to be placing bets, which means you could be paying out and losing money in the long run. Not all sports are available for live streaming though. You can check which ones are available in the in play section.
What sports are on bet365?
Impressively, bet365 has one of the largest betting markets out there. The sports betting options are really second to none as there are over 40 different sports available. On top of that, within each of the different sports are a myriad of different tournaments and leagues to choose from. And, each sport has an array of different bet types enabling you to use the bet builder to create some excellent bets.
