Expert verdict
However you look at it, this is one seriously impressive online sportsbook. I’m struggling to think of any operators in New Zealand that perform as consistently well in almost every area.
Whether it is betting odds, mobile options, betting features or customer support, BetVictor really delivers a high-quality performance. If I had to pick just one element of BetVictor that I especially enjoyed, I’d have to go for the odds on its football markets.
Payments are the only real weak point for BetVictor. Its options are undoubtedly inferior to some other operators in terms of choice. But the methods it accepts – debit/credit card payments, Skrill and bank transfers – are trusted and secure, meaning that most players will be satisfied.
Overall, I can highly recommend signing up for BetVictor. Don’t forget to take advantage of their welcome offer, and don’t forget to download their mobile sports betting app.
Bonuses at BetVictor NZ
A welcome offer is the best way to start any sports betting adventure. BetVictor is aware of this, so it offers new players a matched bet offer when they first join the site. So, when you make your first deposit and place your first qualifying bet, you will get free bets equal to the value of that deposit once your first bet settles.
The maximum amount you can claim in free bets is NZ$40, and no wagering requirements are attached, but free bets must be placed on odds of 2.0 or more. Any profit you make is yours to keep, although you do not retain the value of the free bet.
In addition to this welcome offer, BetVictor also runs regular promotions for existing players. While at the time of writing this review, there were no promotions available, you can often find free bet offers for major events.

Bonus rating
- Free bets for new players
- No wagering requirements
- No existing player offers
NZ$40 in free bets? Yes, please. Simply put, the welcome offer at BetVictor is one of the very best you will find. I would not pass up the chance to claim up to NZ$40 in free bets.
Even better, there are no wagering requirements attached to these free bets. Something I couldn’t say about every betting site in New Zealand: I’m talking about you, FansBet, with your 12x wagering requirements!
However, BetVictor’s offer for existing players is somewhat underwhelming compared to its welcome offer. The only existing player offers were some odds boosts for a couple of football bets. I found this inferior to operators like Betway, who have a weekly bet club and regular promotions.
This comparative lack of existing customer offers means BetVictor falls short of receiving top marks in this section. However, its impressive welcome offer means I’m compelled to give it a reasonably high score.
BetVictor sports betting markets
Now, let’s get down to business by looking at the betting markets offered by BetVictor. As I write this review, there are 30 sports covered by BetVictor and markets covering political events and entertainment.
Naturally, all the most popular sports in New Zealand, such as rugby, cricket and horse racing, are covered. This includes both domestic and international events. Plus, the BetVictor sports markets also cover more niche sports such as darts, greyhound racing, hurling, and many esports events.
Within each sport, you will find several betting options. Whilst these options will vary depending on the event, you will typically find money lines, spreads, totals and prop bets.

Sports & markets rating
- Over 25 sports covered
- Extensive markets range
- All major sports covered
- No unique markets
BetVictor does not mess about when it comes to its sports markets. I was pleased to see that all sports offered markets in international and domestic events where these were available.
Nevertheless, while BetVictor can boast an excellent range of sports and markets, it can’t quite match bet365, which currently offers markets for over 40 different sports.
That being said, I can’t penalise BetVictor as it offers a good range of popular and niche sports and far outstrips PlayUp and its 23 sports. I also liked that each sport has a handy guide to the different betting options.
So while I can’t entirely give BetVictor top marks for their sports betting markets, they do once again receive an excellent score. If you are a betting fan, you are almost sure to be able to find suitable markets to bet on.
Additional market details: Horse racing fans will love the range of markets available at worldwide meetings. Meetings in South Africa, the UK, the US, France, Japan, Australia and the UAE are covered. And there are also daily specials that allow you to place parlay bets on multiple races.
Additional market details: American football fans are in for a treat at BetVictor. As well as covering all NFL and CFB fixtures, the site regularly has special markets for NFL game days. For instance, you can bet which team will record the highest score on a game day or which quarterback will throw for the most yards.
Betting features at BetVictor sportsbook
We all like to add a bit of extra spice to our online sports betting. Additional features like live betting, bet builders and enhanced odds can improve our online betting experience. With that in mind, let’s consider what BetVictor offers.
Boosted odds are available on a large number of events at BetVictor. These are typically offered at major events, giving you the best odds on specified markets. Boosted odds can be found on the main page of any event you go into.
BetVictor also has a wealth of live betting markets. Its live betting pages include statistics about the market you are looking at. Additionally, there are live streams available for some sports, notably horse racing.

Other betting features include partial cashouts and a Pre Built Picks function. This is essentially a bet builder feature. There are also several virtual markets for football, basketball, horse racing and greyhound racing.
Betting features rating
- Enhanced odds on many markets
- Extensive live markets
- Bet builder feature
- Limited live streaming
The key question I ask myself when looking at betting features is, ‘do these features improve my betting experience?’ I am pleased to say that the answer is a resounding yes regarding BetVictor.
The restricted live streams are a big elephant in the room. While operators like SportsBet offer free streaming on many sports and events, this feature was limited to horse racing in the UK and Ireland. This somewhat limited my ability to enjoy in-play betting.
That being said, I was delighted with everything BetVictor had to offer regarding betting features. The enhanced odds markets, as were the live betting options, were plentiful, and placing bets using the bet builders was straightforward.
I also enjoy checking out the virtual markets at betting sites. And both BetVictor and 888Sports certainly deliver in this area. A virtual event starts every couple of minutes, meaning you can always place bets, even when your favourite sport is not being played.
In conclusion, this is a fantastic area for BetVictor. Unfortunately, I cannot completely overlook those limited live streams, so BetVictor receives a perfect but not outstanding score.
Additional features: The’ Specials’ markets are another feature of football betting at BetVictor. Here you will find a variety of markets for the next manager of specific football teams or even the next manager to be sacked in the Premier League. Football fans can also find daily enhanced prices on pre-built parlay bets.
BetVictor odds and payouts
The odds on every bet you place are significant to your overall sports betting experience. In short, the better the odds, the more money you can win.
When assessing odds, we look at the payout percentage offered by a sportsbook. We consider a payout percentage of 95% or above to be good. With that in mind, BetVictor’s average payout percentage is almost exactly 95%
This payout percentage does tend to vary depending upon the sport. The tennis markets at BetVictor have average payout percentages of 95%, but when we looked at football markets, this figure rose to around 97%.
Odds facts
Category | Details |
---|---|
Average payout | 94.10% |
Boosted odds | Yes |
Parlay boosts | Yes |
Line movement | Moderate |
It is also worth factoring in the enhanced odds when assessing the payout percentage at BetVictor. For markets with enhanced odds, the payout percentage can increase dramatically.
Odds rating
- Competitive odds
- Above-average football payouts
- Enhanced odds guaranteed
- Disappointing in-play odds
I’m pleased to say that the odds at BetVictor are some of the best I’ve found while reviewing sporting betting sites in New Zealand. Indeed, in many markets, BetVictor is on par with other reputable sportsbooks, such as Royal Panda, with its 95.20% average payout percentage.
I was delighted that the football payouts were hovering around 97%. Given that football is one of the most popular sports to bet on in New Zealand, this can only be good news for fans.
The rich array of enhanced odds markets means I could find even better value in my bets. Adding a point or two to the odds of a market may seem pretty trivial, but it can make a massive difference to your potential winnings.
If I’m being picky, I did find the in-play odds a bit of a letdown. I know that the live odds are often inferior to pre-match betting odds, but I was disappointed to see BetVictor at about 92% in this area compared to William Hill’s standout 95.60%. However, let’s look on the bright side, as it is far better than LeoVegas at 87.96%
But even considering that small issue, I still have to award BetVictor a great score in this area. The odds are generally outstanding, especially for football fans.
Payment methods
A great sportsbook needs to have reliable payment options. Taking this into account, the areas we look at in our reviews include the speed of payments, the number of payment methods available and any associated fees.
BetVictor currently accepts VISA, Maestro and Mastercard debit and credit cards, Paysafecard and Bank Transfers for deposits and withdrawals in NZ. Withdrawals must be made via the same method you have used to make your deposit.
Regardless of the payment method, the minimum amount for both deposit and withdrawal is $10. All banking options are free of charge. However, your payment provider may impose additional fees.

BetVictor’s impressive payment options include a minimal deposit and withdrawal amount of NZ$10. If you need to make a large deposit, BetVictor allows up to NZ$50,000, as well as withdrawals that can go up to NZ$50,000.
Payments rating
- Fee-free transactions
- Low minimum limits
- Detailed payment info
- Limited payments options
Maximum deposit and withdrawal amounts for card payments can be found in the Help Centre on the BetVictor website. BetVictor retains the right to restrict the size of any wagers or withdrawal requests you make. If you wish to make a large withdrawal and find that it is not being accepted, you’ll need to contact customer support to discuss your options.
So, after a string of solid sections, BetVictor has slightly blotted its copybook here. Don’t get me wrong, and most players will find a suitable payment method at BetVictor. It’s just that I was hoping for a few more options, like at Neds with nine methods.
Let’s start with the positives. You can use debit and credit cards at BetVictor. So if like most people, you have a card, you can use it to fund your BetVictor account. Likewise, if you have a bank account, you can support your bets via this method. The lack of fees is also a plus point.
Unfortunately, this is pretty much where it ends. You can use an e-wallet, but Skrill is the only option. However, at least this is better than at the TAB, where you’re restricted to bank transfers, card payments, or cash at retail TAB outlets.
So although it is not all bad news, this is less than stellar category for BetVictor. Certainly, their limited range of payment methods is a big negative for the operator.
Safety features
You should only ever use online sportsbooks that are wholly legitimate and secure. That is a fundamental rule of gambling online and something you should never breach. So is BetVictor a fair and secure operator?
BetVictor New Zealand is licensed by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner (GGC). The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) also licenses the parent website. Therefore, this sportsbook can be fully trusted to provide a fair, trustworthy, secure online sports betting provision.
To further enhance BetVictor’s security credentials, the site is regularly audited by eCOGRA, who check that the markets at BetVictor are fair and that all bets are fairly honoured.

- Fully licensed
- Self-control tools range
- Audited by eCOGRA
- No faults found
Honestly, this was precisely what I expected from BetVictor sports. Given their excellent reputation, I was unsurprised that they had a full range of security provisions.
I couldn’t find any faults with the safety features at BetVictor. They are on par with other top operators like LeoVegas regarding online security.
I’m always especially interested in the safer gambling tools an operator provides. Therefore, I was pleased to discover BetVictor sports allow you to set deposit limits and self-exclusion periods. I highly recommend that you check out these features.
To sum up — BetVictor is a completely fair and trustworthy betting operator. You can use their site with complete confidence, knowing that your bets will be honoured and your data is secure thanks to 256-bit SSL. However, while this is above average, it is nowhere near the 2048-bit encryption at Ladbrokes.
Customer support
Even the savviest and experienced sports betting fans occasionally encounter problems. That is when excellent customer support becomes imperative. This review section will assess how BetVictor sports performs in this area.
Live chat is the easiest way of contacting customer support. This service is available 24/7 and can be accessed directly from the main menu on the left of the BetVictor homepage. Simply fill in your name and email address, and you will be sent to an operator.
You can contact BetVictor via email ([email protected]) or directly message them on Twitter (@BetVictor). Both of these options are available at all times of the day.

The help centre at BetVictor sports is a pop-up box (much the same as the live chat pop up) in which you can type your issue into a search box or peruse the selection of articles available. These articles cover common issues relating to payments, promotions, safer gambling, betting guides, and the rules for numerous sports.
Support rating
- 24/7 live chat
- Great help centre
- Social media support
- No telephone support
I can’t imagine you will face many problems when betting at BetVictor. But if you do, then solutions are straightforward to find. The extensive Help Centre should be your first port of call.
The live chat facility is excellent if you can’t find the answer. Like the live chat service at PlayUp and other leading operators, BetVictor sports offer live support throughout the day and night. This is great for players who like to place bets late at night or early in the morning.
I could point to the lack of telephone support as a negative, but I rarely use it if available. I find a live chat, email and social media all preferable options. Plus, as mentioned, the help centre at BetVictor is excellent and full of valuable articles.
So overall, while I have to penalise BetVictor slightly for their lack of telephone support, I can still award them an excellent score in this area. This is one of the best customer support provisions for sports betting in New Zealand. Furthermore, unlike MyBookie, you don’t have to create an account and log in first before you can access help.
Platform
Sports betting fans want a straightforward user experience when placing bets. So in the final section of our review, it’s time to look at how well BetVictor fulfils this requirement.
The BetVictor homepage features the latest in-play betting markets, plus a menu on the left of the screen linking to the most popular site pages. You can also access an A-Z of sports or support options.
When you go to a specific sports page, you will see the latest in-play markets and the available bet boosts. There are links to all the competitions and events featured at that time.

Platform rating
- Easy navigation
- Mobile compatible website
- Useful tabs and settings
- Unattractive website design
I thoroughly enjoyed touring the BetVictor mobile app and website. Both platforms are superbly laid out and intuitive to navigate. I was never more than a click or two away from where I wanted to be.
I’d even go as far as saying that the BetVictor mobile app is as good as the one offered by Ladbrokes. And they are widely regarded as one of the very best providers of mobile sports betting.
The BetVictor website is also an excellent sports betting platform. I especially liked that the latest bet boosts immediately appeared when you accessed a sports page.
Our BetVictor review should finish with another solid area given their excellent overall performance. I can confidently say that you will have a fantastic time using the BetVictor website and mobile app. After all, no one wants to play on a glitchy app like the one at 888Sports.
FAQs
Does BetVictor give free bets?
Yes. The best way to get free bets at BetVictor is to claim their excellent welcome offer. This gives you a 100% match betting bonus on your deposit of up to NZ$100. For example, if you deposit NZ$60, you will receive NZ$60 that can be used to place one large or many small free bets. There are no wagering requirements attached to these free bets.
Does BetVictor NZ offer cash out?
Yes. BetVictor’s cash-out feature allows you to request a partial payout of your bet whilst the event is taking place. This enables you to lock in a profit, regardless of the eventual outcome of the bet. Of course, taking partial cash out eliminates your chance of landing the full amount stated on your bet slip, so you must carefully assess the event before deciding whether to cash out.
Are BetVictor odds the best guaranteed for horses?
Yes. Best odds guaranteed means that if your bet slips shows a specific price on a horse, and those odds subsequently shorten, the operator will pay you the extended price. At BetVictor, best odds guaranteed apply from 10am on a race day. Any bets placed after that point will settle at either the price on your betting slip or the starting price – whichever of the two options gives you the higher payout.
How do I withdraw from BetVictor sportsbook?
Withdrawing from BetVictor is very easy. All you need to do is access your account details and select your preferred withdrawal option. Ideally, this should be the same method that you used to deposit. The minimum withdrawal limit is NZ$10, and there are no fees from the sportsbook’s side. However, it’s wise to check with your payment provider for any fees on their side.
Is there a BetVictor online sports betting app?
Yes. The BetVictor mobile app is available for both Apple and Android devices. It can be found in the Google Play or Apple stores. The BetVictor mobile sports betting app has the same betting markets and features as the full desktop website. Alternatively, the BetVictor sports website is compatible with all major mobile web browsers.
