Editor's note
This SugarHouse casino review is based on the PA site, as it’s the first and most established. State specifics are noted in our states section. Note that SugarHouse is a BetRivers brand; currently, many state sites have already rebranded to BetRivers, but you can still access the PlaySugarHouse site in PA.
Expert verdict: great all-rounder
Coming to the end of this SugarHouse casino review, I’ve got to say that I think it’s one of the best ones out there. There’s a ton of games, a great navigation system, and an epically low wagering requirement on the sign-up bonus. The US tends to average around 300-500 games, and SH have over 800. Wagering requirements tend to be around 15x-30x, and you’re looking at 1x here.
There’s a solid range of physical and virtual payment methods, and a fantastic mobile app. BetMGM and Golden Nugget do offer more payment options, but whether you’re cash, card or internet, you’ll find something at SugarHouse. They could strengthen even further by adding an option for phone support, and by offering a no-deposit bonus.
States — SugarHouse across the USA
SugarHouse currently operates in 2 states: New Jersey and Pennsylvania. If you are in a different state, we suggest checking out our top sweeps cash casinos, which are available across the US.
The company behind SugarHouse actually offers a couple of sweeps casinos, here’s the deal with those:
- BetRivers.net social casino is the newer one. It’s more up-to-date, and seems to be the future of the brand.
- Rush Games social casino has a similar level of product, but it came out a few years before, and seems to be being left behind by its younger sibling.
SugarHouse in New Jersey
SugarHouse New Jersey now operates under the BetRivers brand. For the purpose of comparison, we’ve included NJ information in this SugarHouse casino review.
- $500 first deposit bonus
- 1x wagering requirement
- 800+ games, including 14 live and 23 table
- Free bingo games
- 28 software providers
- 10 payment options
- Apps for iOS and Android
SugarHouse in Pennsylvania
Generally a little smaller than NJ. If you’re based in New Jersey, we can’t really recommend you make the drive just to play in PA. Still, it’s decent, offering the major games categories.
- $250 first deposit bonus
- 1x wagering requirement
- 249 games, including 7 live and 14 table
- No free bingo games
- 14 software providers
- 10 payment options
- Apps for iOS and Android
SugarHouse casino bonus — $250
The SugarHouse welcome bonus takes the form of a deposit match — 100% up to $250.
It’s not the biggest bonus out there, with Unibet and 888 offering up to $500, and some even more. But here’s the twist. SugarHouse has a 1x wagering requirement.
As a general rule, operators ask you to turnover 16-30x before cashing out, so 1x is comparatively low. Unibet and 888 will have you wager 25x and 30x respectively. The 1x alone merits SugarHouse a spot on our best casino welcome bonus list.

For casino bonuses past sign-up, there’s a number of them, mostly behind their bonus-store system. There’s 5 different types in there, all with different levels. So how does it work? Making bets nets you “Bonus Store Points” and “Loyalty Level Points.”
Once you’ve racked up enough bonus store points, you can spend them on different bonuses, which include money-awarding wheel spins, invitations to SugarHouse’s bingo games, scratch cards, or straight-up bonus money. There’s a couple of sportsbook-specific things there too, which some players may find interesting.
The loyalty points tick you up the iRR (iRush Rewards) VIP program, and progressing to higher levels lets you earn bonus points.
Players can also find free bingo games among the bonus options, and more sporadic examples, such as this month’s community chat bonus round.
Bonus rating
- Fantastic wagering requirements
- Choice of loyalty bonuses
- Missing no-deposit promotions
In my opinion, the casino’s offering is strong. But honestly, rating the SugarHouse casino bonus is a pretty weird experience. Where they do well, they do really well, but they’re quite average in a few places too.
Fortunately, even their worst points don’t fall anywhere below average, by our rating. That $250 bonus may not compare to what’s on offer in our Borgata online casino review or Golden Nugget’s $1,000 bonus, but it’s going to outshine the $100 cashbacks offered at Virgin and Tropicana by miles.
That 1x wagering requirement scores incredibly well in my book, even if the games eligible for contribution are more limited than I’d like, since only slots and video poker qualify.
For comparison, Unibet will let you wager the requirements away on table and live games too, with a 10% contribution from each, but they’ll hit you with a much higher wagering requirement.
To qualify for the SugarHouse casino bonus, you’ll need to deposit a minimum of $10, which is pretty good, too. The general market often asks for $20, and Golden Nugget sets the bottom bar at $30.
At SugarHouse, you’ll still need a bonus code to grab your cash – some places are getting rid of them and just handing you the bonus these days. (Unibet PA and Golden Nugget, for instance).
Where I’m certainly conflicted is with the bonuses offered for existing players. It’s way better than places that completely abandon their players once they’re done with sign-on bonuses (lookin’ at you, 888), but some of the stuff seems a bit inaccessible to me.
The bonus store and the VIP program give great variety and lots of choice, which a lot of other casinos don’t have (I call 1-3 bonuses for existing players pretty standard). That being said, locking bonuses behind a point system isn’t great for casual players.
If you’re a high roller, you’re gonna get tons of value out of the SugarHouse casino bonus options. But those who play for fun might be tempted to bounce after nabbing the great welcome bonus.
That’s where I think the bingo and the more sporadic fun stuff really saves the day. The community chat bonus running at the time of writing will have players yelling at each other, trying to RNG their way into some bonus cash.
It’s hardly a guaranteed win, but it’s definitely fun. On the whole, I think the SugarHouse online casino bonuses deserve a strong score, but their particular nuances may not be for everyone, and that’s okay. Still, the epically low wagering requirement makes it practically the most lenient online casino bonus in the US.

SugarHouse casino bonus code per state
You only really need a code for the welcome bonus, and while there’s a few variants around, they all do the same thing. The “most official” one definitely works at SugarHouse casino Pennsylvania. The same bonus is also offered in West Virginia, under the BetRivers brand.
SugarHouse casino bonus code | Relevant state |

PACASINO250 | Pennsylvania |
CASINO250 | West Virginia (BetRivers) |
VIP program and points system
VIP programs are something we like to see, and you’ll often find them at our best-scoring casinos. Fielding this alone already puts SugarHouse on the sweeter side of our list. (See what we did there?) Unibet does pretty well on the whole and has no VIP options – one reason why it’s a good casino rather than a great one. Golden Nugget has an extensive VIP program, and is one of the best on our casino reviews.
As explained above, the iRush Rewards program has players earning points based on their wagering. Loyalty Level Points and Bonus Store Points are awarded at the same rate. The system is a complex one that’d take a whole page to break down, but here’s a quick runthrough: There are 10 levels, and an elite, by-invitation-only level.
Lower tiers have simple things like free invitations to SugarHouse casino bonus bingo, while the highest tiers boast things like bonus multipliers, VIP dinners, and expedited withdrawals. It takes 40 points to get into tier 1, and 20,000 to break into tier 10. Points are earned by wagering, depending on a game’s expected RTP. Here’s what it takes to get to the top:
Game RTP | Wager per point |
---|---|
94% | $4.17 |
95% | $5.00 |
97.5% | $10.00 |
99% | $25.00 |
Bonus store
The bonus store allows players to redeem points from the iRR VIP program at SugarHouse online casino. Here’s a breakdown of what’s available for casino players, depending on your VIP tier:
Reward type | Lowest reward | Point cost | Highest reward | Point cost |
---|---|---|---|---|
Bonus money | $2.50 (Tier 1) | 200 | $400 (Tier 9) | 20,000 |
Scratch card | $1-$10 (Tier 1) | 200 | $500 – $5,000 (Tier 10) | 50,000 |
Bingo token | 1x (Tier 1) | 50 | 10x (Tier 1) | 250 |
Wheel spin | $1-$10 (Tier 1) | 100 | $250-$2000 (Tier 9) | 25,000 |
We’ve got to admit, we’re hardly blown away. While there’s plenty of stuff available in the bonus store, it’s not great that so much of it is locked behind a play-to-earn system. If you’re a high roller though, SugarHouse online casino gives you a true chance to strut your stuff.
Other promotions for existing players
There isn’t too much going on outside the bonus store at SugarHouse. 1-3 bonuses for existing players is an average score in our book, and SH are running 2. Here’s a peek at what’s available at the time of writing:
- Free bingo games: players may be randomly invited to participate in a 75-ball bingo match, competing against other players. Winners are rewarded with bonus money.
- King Cash community chat: Throughout the month, minigames ranging from trivia questions to ‘finish the song’ contests will randomly pop up in SugarHouse’s community chat during selected hours, and players can earn bonus cash in this hybrid of RNG and competition.
Bonus terms
SugarHouse’s terms are pretty consistent across most of their bonuses, and in fact, most of their terms and conditions link you to the general bonus T&Cs. We went through what’s available right now, and the only anomalies are that any bonus money bought with points in the bonus store is only valid for 7 days, and the King Cash community chat bonus money can also be wagered on sports. Apart from that, the general formula follows the welcome bonus, with:
- 1x wagering requirements
- Games eligible: slots and video poker
- Bonus money valid for 30 days
Across the general market, those terms score pretty well, apart from the game eligibility. There, SugarHouse online casino proves a bit sub-par. Only wagers placed on slot games and video poker will pay off that requirement. It’s better than places that only offer slots, or worse, selected slots, but some places will let you play your wagering requirement on just about any game. Golden Nugget, for example, offer a 100% contribution from slots, and a 25% contribution from roulette, blackjack, table games and video poker.
The 30 day validity is on the stronger side of the market – Unibet matches it, but we’ve seen plenty of promos, even at big casinos like Caesar’s and Golden Nugget, that only have a 7-day claim time. We’re thinking about one Caesar’s promo in particular that only let slots contribute 50% towards wagering requirements… trust us, there are casino bonus terms a lot worse than those at SugarHouse.
1,100+ games, good variety at SugarHouse online casino
With 1,100+ in total, the SugarHouse casino games library is one of the biggest we’ve seen in the US market to date. Anything over 700 is a top score for us (we call 300-500 pretty average for NJ) so you should find plenty to play. With casinos like Virgin offering less than 200, it’s a clear difference.
Notable categories include the 890+ slots, the 217 progressive jackpots, the 48 table games, and 27 live dealer games.

Though few in number, seeing non-mainstream options like bingo and video keno helps the casino’s score. Not too many places are offering those – Virgin and Tropicana are among the ones that do. SH’s library is far from exhaustive though. There are no options for lotto or online craps, and scratch cards are limited to the bonus store.
For high rollers, there are high-stakes bingo games available for the top tiers of SugarHouse casino VIP program.
Game types
Games rating
- Over 890 slots

- No lotto
SugarHouse gets an incredible score here, and it’s clear why. There’s. So. Much.
Sure, there’s a couple of niche categories that are missing, but this casino’s games library covers all the bases, and then some.
Quick checklist run:
– Wide general variety? Yup.
– Advanced game filtering system? Yup.
– Exclusive games? Yup.
– VIP or high-stakes stuff? Yup.
– Free casino games and demos available? Yup.
– Of course, it’s not 100% perfect.
Not all the live games are streamed from a physical casino, some are shot in a studio instead.
But in general, there’s so many options to play casino games here, it’s hard to find nits to pick. I really appreciate that there’s a lot of “niche” options, like virtual sports betting and video keno/bingo. There aren’t many options for them, true, but they’re more than most other places offer, and will help scratch that itch.
For comparison, Golden Nugget is another top scorer in this category, and is missing the same things. Unibet scores slightly lower — it has a smaller library (around 600 games total), and is missing bingo, keno and its filter system is comparatively basic.
I like seeing exclusive games; it shows a casino’s willing to make some investment to stand out. There’s nothing too huge — a couple of table games by Rush are the most significant — but it represents an extra effort, and I appreciate that, together with the ease of free play.
I’ll cover the filter system more extensively in the usability section, but it’s fantastic. Being able to sort games by type, studio and number of paylines is a more advanced set than you’d get at most places. Unibet only lets you sort by ‘Our favorites’ or alphabetically, while BetMGM has no sorting system at all — just game categories in the headers.
I’ll probably stick around here for a while — there’s plenty of choice, and everything’s easy to find. I’m not gonna lie, writing this SugarHouse casino review was a lot of fun.
Further details on SugarHouse games
Slots
Over 890 casino slots make this one of the bigger libraries in the US market. It’s not as huge as Borgata and BetMGM, who both pass the 1,000 mark, but it’s more than Virgin, who’ve got 149 at the time of writing.
It’s hard to make a top picks list from such a big pile, but there’s a couple of criteria provided by SugarHouse themselves that make choosing easier. You can sort by highest historical win multiplier, and three are some impressive numbers showing up on recognizable names.
Game | Studio | Theoretical RTP | Top win multiplier |
---|---|---|---|
Dead or Alive 2 | NetEnt | 96.80% | 46,695x (second highest at casino) |
Roaming Reels: Raging Roosters | Ainsworth | 96.15% | 30,000x |
300 Shields Extreme | SG Digital | 95.29% | 12,367x |
Jackpots
Looking at the jackpot section for SugarHouse, it’s one of the biggest out there, with 217 titles – pretty ample when compared to Unibet’s 39. That being said, players should be more than fine, considering the top picks available, including SH’s number record-holder for highest historical multiplier…
Title | Provider | Max multiplier at SH | SugarHouse Jackpot (at writing time) |
---|---|---|---|
Divine Fortune | NetEnt | 762,526x (Highest at casino) | $102,412.89 |
Mercy of the Gods | NetEnt | 25,030x | $41,993.39 |
Other casino games
There’s actually quite a lot to talk about here, though we’ll do our best to keep it brief. Most of the casino games we rate for are present, though lotto, scratch cards and craps games are missing at SugarHouse. Caesar’s have an ‘other games’ section that’ll definitely hit any scratch card cravings, and despite a small library on the whole, Tropicana should sort you for craps.
SugarHouse’s casino games section is better than average though – Unibet’s game library scores pretty well, and they don’t even offer bingo or keno. If you want to get extra-technical, SH offers bonus money scratch cards in their bonus store, but it’s not the same, is it?
Table games are popular everywhere, and there’s no exception with SH’s portfolio. 2 exclusive table games, American Roulette, Four Card Poker and Game King Video Poker all make the top 3 rows of the default games page.
We think it’s super cool that table games are among SugarHouse’s exclusives. It’s always great to see exclusives, and even better when they’re anything other than slots. The games in question are Blackjack variants, Multi-Bet and Single Hand.
The table games section at SH is on the larger side. They offer 48 table games at the time of writing, along with 24 video poker options, bringing the total to 72. Unibet’s offers 23 total, while Borgata’s got 33, rounding it out nicely.
(Author’s note: you’ll count a different number if you filter by table games – I’m grouping video poker with table games, and keeping the live games separate.)
For a specific breakdown, here’s what’s on the cards at Sugarhouse — 23 blackjack games, 8 for poker, 24 for roulette, 4 for baccarat, and Casino War.
It’s also great to see other games beyond table. The numbers are listed in the fact box above, but the categories in question are keno, video bingo, and virtual sports betting. They’re worth placing in the top picks section, just because so many casinos are missing them.
There’s also the competitive bonus bingo, covered in the bonus section.
Live casino games
Roulette players should have a blast here. There are 27 options as soon as the live games page opens up, including 2 variants of Lightning Roulette — the automated speedy version Evolution is so known for. With 27 games in total (not counting individual tables for standard roulette, blackjack and baccarat), the library’s decently sized, the same as Borgata and BetMGM’s.
The less common options include 2 variants of Dream Catcher — a Wheel of Fortune style game, and the themed simplified versions of Baccarat which Evolution have been making waves with; Dragon Tiger and First Person Football Studio.
In case you’re not familiar, they’re very simple; the dealer plays 2 cards off against each other, and you bet on which you think will be higher, while having a themed live chat with the dealer and other players.
The SugarHouse live casino scores pretty well on the whole for us. It’s great that it runs 24/7, though we’ve docked a few points since some games are studio-based rather than casino-based.
The full game breakdown lies as follows:
- 4 Roulette
- 2 Blackjack
- 2 Dream Catcher
- 1 Dragon Tiger
- 1 First Person Football Studio
- 2 Baccarat
- 2 Poker
Suggestion: Casual players should check out Infinite Blackjack — there’s an unlimited number of places at the table, so you can play at your own pace.
Theoretical RTP by games type
Theoretical RTP is a wonky number — it’s not a true representation of what players get back, that depends on how much you play, and where. We don’t recommend basing any decisions off of it, but it’s good to have for general reference.
Game Type | Theoretical RTP |
---|---|
Slots | 95.82% |
Table | 97.20% |
Jackpot | 94.88% |
Live Blackjack | 99.38% |
Live Roulette | 96.66% |
Live Poker | 96.57% |
Average: | 96.76% |

Some other brands which are popular in the US and show up at SugarHouse are NextGen, WMS, Konami, Slingo, Evolution Gaming and Bally.
When launching the exclusive Multi-Bet blackjack game, you’ll see the Rush Street Interactive logo pop up. It’s a huge plus when casinos have their own bespoke software and games, like SH with Rush, and 888 with 888 Holdings.
As you’d expect from most top casinos, you can instant-play in browser, and won’t need a download to get your game on.
Available software
Software rating
- 28 — Massive range of software
- Live casino by Evolution
- Bespoke software
- Missing a few top names
On the whole, I like what SugarHouse casino has got going on when it comes to software. It’s got one of the biggest libraries I’ve seen in the US so far, beating out the 25 at Golden Nugget.
It sucks that even a casino as big as this only presents 7/13 of our top providers, though with the massive licensing costs, that could easily be an industry problem rather than an SH one. Still, the holes left by providers such as Playtech are big ones.
SH sweeten the deal a little further with their live casino provider — Evolution is a huge name that’s never a disappointment to see. With their own studios, Evolution-trained dealers and UHD streams, it’s rarer to see a top casino without Evolution than with them.
Still, the place doesn’t get a top live score in my SugarHouse casino review. Having some of the live games streamed from a studio rather than a physical casino is blip on an otherwise clean radar.
What is absolutely and completely mega-cool is seeing games from Rush. When the parent company behind the BetRivers and SugarHouse online casino brands starts offering games, it’s practically a guarantee that you won’t see them anywhere else, at least for a while.
SugarHouse casino review: Payment options, 10 total
The number of payment options available is pretty standard for the US online casino market (6-15 is fairly common). With 10 ways available, it falls in between Unibet (7) and Golden Nugget (11).
The types of payment offered cover all bases, from cash and card to online wallet and instant bank transfers.

Getting to the concrete details, the full list includes MasterCard, Visa, ACH (VIP Preferred and online banking), prepaid card (Play+), 2 external cash options (PayNearMe and VanillaDirect), and cash at casino cage. Naturally, they join our list of PayPal casinos, and SH is even one of the online casinos that accepts Discover card.
For deposits, all options are available. For withdrawals, players can use online banking, PayPal, e-check (VIP Preferred), and cash withdrawals from the casino cage at Golden Nugget in Atlantic City. Times are solid too, with deposits being instant, and SugarHouse being one of the fast payout casinos we recommend.

Withdrawal methods
Payments rating
- No fees from casino
- Cash, card and online options
- No real withdrawal limits
- Transaction limits — minor issue
Let’s start with that mastery point. I’ll give a top score for a minimum withdrawal limit to any place that sets it under $10. $1 is significantly less than 10. I can’t picture many occasions where I’d want to withdraw a single dollar bill from a casino cage, but it’s nice to know I can. Maybe if I’m already there and have a sudden urge to hit up a vending machine…
Apart from that, SugarHouse tends to score above average in most categories. They’ve got more than half (6) of our top 10 payment methods, which should cover players in most situations. Still, it’d be great to see some more popular options from other casinos. SugarHouse is not on our Skrill casinos list, and there’s no Neteller either (Tropicana has that). There are also American Express casinos like Golden Nugget in the US, but SH doesn’t provide here either.
I really do like having a cash-at-casino-cage option available, especially in NJ. The physical SH casino (now going by Rivers Casino) is in PA, which would pose a problem for players in other states.
Fortunately, SugarHouse teamed up with Golden Nugget to provide the service to NJ players. I love seeing casinos make moves like this to give their players an easier time. Unibet does this too — they’re partnered with the Hard Rock Hotel Casino.
Seeing PayPal’s always great too – they’ve got their own strict criteria for letting casinos do business with them, which makes me feel safer about places. Being one of the casinos that accept Visa is reassuring too, even if it’s only because of Visa’s brand recognition for reliability, rather than anything else.
I can’t fault the withdrawal times either. Though there is a bit of variance which allows up to 3 days for internal processing, the standard claim of >24 hours is definitely on the faster side. 2-3 days is pretty average for US casinos, and BetMGM’s processing can take up to 5.
They’re also fee-free, at least from the casino side, which is fantastic, while minimum deposit is a reasonable $10..
I might complain a little about the $25,000 withdrawal limit (per transaction). In reality, it shouldn’t affect most players, and is way higher than the $3,000-$5,000 per week limit that our average scores go to. In actual fact, there’s no time-gating at all at SH, as you can request multiple transactions at once. But hey, any sort of limit is a limit for someone.
In the grand scheme of things, there’s nothing at SugarHouse casino that counts as a red flag in my book. While there are few perfect scores, most flags are way closer to the green side.

Right, let’s start with the good stuff. Responsible gaming is my biggest criterion here – the casino industry’s reputation isn’t the brightest, and predatory practices are a big no-no from me. SugarHouse gets it right, offering various player safety tools.
There are dedicated responsible gaming pages, and logos in headers/footers which link to them, as well as links to external organizations if you feel you need more help. The only way SugarHouse could score higher is if they had their own dedicated responsible gaming platform, like 888 do.
Where I believe SH can do better is with transparency regarding game fairness. Technically, the FAQ section takes care of it — they explicitly state that the NJDGE audits their games to ensure fairness, and that RNG software is used to ensure random outcomes.
That’s already better than comments I made about Unibet’s approach — explicitly stating “tested by NJDGE” is clarity I appreciate. That being said, game fairness can be more explicit. A dedicated page with full details or public RTP reports would raise the score significantly closer to the full 100.
It’s great that Rush Street is winning awards for its casinos too — they wouldn’t be getting those if every other player was calling the cops to complain about scams.
In general, everything seems to be good, but I save the best scores for casinos that go the extra mile. For example, I really like that Virgin’s online casino puts links to responsible gaming pages in the main promotions tab. Putting the safety tools in high-visibility areas is something I appreciate.
SugarHouse online casino is safe because
- The casino is licensed in multiple states, and is regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
- Games are also audited by the NJDGE and PGCB.
- Multiple responsible gaming tools are offered, including time limits, spend limits, and self-exclusion.
- It’s run by Rush Street Interactive, an award-winning brand among casinos in the US.
Compared to the rest of the industry, SugarHouse does very well. It gets the important stuff right, and goes the extra mile in transparency compared to places like Unibet. With that in mind, there are places that handle certain aspects better, like Virgin/Tropicana (see Expert Rating tab).
Responsible gaming tools
The casino offers various tools to help you play safely, including:
- Play-time limits (Hours per day)
- Deposit limits (Daily/Weekly/Monthly)

The SugarHouse casino mobile app
The SugarHouse casino app contains even more games than the desktop version. Native apps are available for both Android and iOS. We experienced no glitches or crashes during our test.
The filter system doesn’t appear on top as it does on the desktop version, but becomes visible via a dropdown menu. SugarHouse mobile scores brilliantly thanks to its mobile-exclusive games, and by offering more of its total games on mobile than most competitors.
All of the the SugarHouse casino live dealer games are available on the mobile app — it’s very common to see at least one or two missing, but SH comes out on top.
Supported operating systems
Mobile rating
- 50+ extra games
- Filter system on mobile
- The mobile exclusives aren’t labelled
It’s a bold statement, but I’ll stand by it. The SugarHouse casino app has got all my favorite things about the desktop version (lots of game variety + a great filter system) and has a nice chunk of extra games on top of that.
Game availability on mobile is one of our top rating criteria, so having everything and more is fantastic, far as I’m concerned. Golden Nugget’s a casino we rate very highly, and even they’re missing 20-odd games from their mobile section. The places we score as average are usually missing around 30% of their library.
Even the full live casino suite is available on mobile — Borgata loses 2 of its games, while SH keeps all 14.
On top of that, the app’s smooth, things load fast, and I wasn’t hit with any glitches during my mobile journey. Demos are available on mobile too.
So with all that in mind, why doesn’t the SugarHouse casino app merit a full 100/100?
Essentially, a 98 means “perfect, you went 4 extra miles, but you didn’t go 5”. And where SH didn’t hit that last line is as follows:
-No mobile-exclusive payments
-No mobile-exclusive bonuses (very rare actually, so still fully merits a 98)
-No marking of mobile-exclusive games
Maybe that last one doesn’t sound like a big deal, but if you’ve got some extra games, it’d be nice to know what they are. There are over 50, so I couldn’t scroll through and find them all, but I made it a point to find some to list out for you.
There’s a NetEnt game called “Roulette Touch” that isn’t on the desktop version, and a couple of cool-looking IGT slots – “Natural Powers” and “1421, Voyages of Zheng He”.
On the whole, though, gotta say that the app shouldn’t disappoint. It’s amongst the absolute best mobile casino apps out there.
How to download the SugarHouse Android App
Quite unusually for US casino apps, SugarHouse has you download it through the Google Play Store. However, users have reported issues with being able to find the app with the store’s search function, so we recommend accessing it through the SH casino website as follows:
- Head to the website of whichever state you’re planning to play in
- Scroll down to the footer
- Tap ‘Get it for Android’, under the ‘Download our free apps!’ section
- Download the app from the Google Play Store
- Open the app, accept the permission requests, and play
How to download the SugarHouse iOS App
- Open the App Store on your device, and search for ‘SugarHouse Casino & Sportsbook’
- Hit ‘Download’ to start the installation process
- Open the app, accept the permission requests, and play
- Alternatively, you can find a link to the App Store page in the footer of the casino’s site
SugarHouse support: fast and efficient
SugarHouse online casino hits most of the boxes. An FAQ section is supported by live chat, email and text support. The only thing missing is a phone option.

Having support agents available for live chat every day is excellent, but SugarHouse misses out on an industry-leading score by not offering 24/7 chat, like BetMGM and Borgata do.
Support rating
- Helpful staff
- Quick response time
- Not available 24/7
Nothing bad to say here, apart from the absence of a phone support option, and the fact that chat isn’t 24/7. But with email, live chat and text messaging all available, I can live without it, and SugarHouse casino still does well. For comparison, I’d give top scores to Virgin and Tropicana, who both provide 24/7 live chat and toll-free phone support.
That being said, SH is still above average in the overall availability department. I’d put it on par with Resorts casino or Unibet, who offer similar hours.
In my test run, response times to live chat were fantastic. In 3 tests, queuing never took more than a minute, and our average scores go to casinos that take 3-5. Golden nugget’s a pretty fast one, averaging around 2 minutes, but the first time I used their chat, I queued for over 20. In comparison, SugarHouse casino’s live chat is lightning-quick, and doesn’t need a sign-in.
The answers I got from support were really helpful, though I did have to clarify a bit. Easy questions were no problem at all. When I started asking for specific stuff, such as a full list of withdrawal methods, responses took a little longer, but came back detailed.
One thing I loved was the ability to send a transcript of the live chat to yourself over email. Great for the records if you’re having problems that need a long chat.
I also quite like their FAQ section. It’s not all-knowing, but it’s way better than, say, Unibet’s. Where most of Unibet’s ~100 FAQ’s were around 3-5 lines, SugarHouse’s 164 are more detailed. Queries such as ‘How do I add a Bonus Code’ are almost a page long, and include diagrams with arrows and stuff. Top-notch.

The combination of a search bar and a highly advanced filter system makes finding games a breeze, both old favorites and new experiences. Search bars aren’t uncommon, but they’re not everywhere either.
The advanced filter system is among the best in the US casino market, almost on par with Golden Nugget’s. Since most casinos stick their games in massive piles without much organization, this is great to see from SugarHouse.
Usability rating
- Insanely good filters
- Quick registration
- I want even more filters!
Okay, let’s hear it. The one bad thing about SugarHouse’s interface is… there isn’t an option to automatically separate RNG casino games and live dealer games. That’s it. That’s my only complaint.
It’s pretty easy to overcome — if you’re looking for just the live games, you can use the game studio filter to find everything by Evolution. If you’re looking for RNG casino games, you can just sort by card and table games, and filter through manually.
I know it’s a little thing, but when the rest of it’s so good, you notice the imperfections.
Apart from that, brilliant across the board. Signing up is quick and easy. The form is three mini-pages, and should take around 25 mouse-clicks, including dropdown menus and optional bonus code. There are even fast registration options if you have Rush Rewards or a SugarHouse Casino 4Fun account.
All in all, the signup shouldn’t take longer than a minute or two, provided you have the details. One thing I liked that I haven’t seen on too many other casino sites is that SugarHouse autofills your city/state boxes once you put in your ZIP code. Very efficient.
Where SugarHouse blows the competition out of the water is with its game filtering system. Perhaps the only thing it doesn’t have is a filter-by-theme, which was something fun offered by Golden Nugget. But SH kills it with innovative searching options.
You wanna sort by game studio? You can.
You wanna sort by “Top historical win multiplier?” You can.
You wanna sort by games that have paid out >100% of cash in the past hour? You can.
I cannot understate how much I love these options. I’m not the type to stick to the same 3 or 4 games, and I’m always on the lookout for new stuff. When I know the type of thing I’m looking for, but not a specific game, filters like this help me find things way quicker than Google does.
So with all these options available in a large stock of games… I’m going to be hanging around here a while.

The future of SugarHouse
In May 2021, the company behind SugarHouse online casino and sportsbook picked up 3 major EGR awards: Casino operator of the year, Customer services operator of the year, and Social gaming operator of the year. Online gambling began in the US in 2013, and SH didn’t start until 2016.
When you put those things together with the fact that SugarHouse already has one of the largest casino libraries we’ve seen so far, and that it’s ‘New’ page is constantly being updated, it’s safe to say that the brand’s serious about growing in size and scope. For comparison, 888 launched in 2013 and Virgin in 2014, and both have significantly fewer options than SH does.
