Best alternatives to PowerPlay casino
Expert verdict
To put this succinctly, PowerPlay casino offers a small but robust games library complete with a top-notch set of live casino games from Playtech (there are no Evolution Gaming titles here). All the games are top quality.
Like other top online casinos, PowerPlay offers several different payment options. Canadians can enjoy a selection of Canadian-specific options, including Interac, which offers a speedy first deposit and quick withdrawals.
However, currently, there is no PowerPlay casino app on offer. And, if you want to get in touch with support, you have several options. The overall setup is also great, as there is also a loyalty program to boost your gaming.
Games available at PowerPlay online casino
PowerPlay casino is all about giving you high-quality games across different game types. There are over 87 casino games on offer here. These are mainly online slots with 45 options to choose from.
PowerPlay has a strong live casino area. You can find a variety of live dealer games from Playtech including various roulette, blackjack, game shows and baccarat options.
This is just the beginning, there are a wealth of other popular game types too. You can find virtual table games including roulette, blackjack and baccarat on offer, not just in the live casino.

PowerPlay casino does not have any progressive jackpots on offer nor are there any jackpots found in the live casino. Even though games from Microgaming are present, there are no jackpot slots like Mega Moolah on offer.

- Live games available

- Various different slots
- No video poker
PowerPlay casino offers players a variety of different slot games. It might not have thousands of slots but I found what I was looking for at PowerPlay. I’m sure they will be adding more slots in the coming months.
That being said, it still pales in comparison to Wildz casino which as some 3,500 games on offer.
I enjoyed the table games too. With 50+ table games to choose from, there is more than enough to keep you entertained.
The only thing I found lacking was the lack of video poker and jackpots. I really enjoy jackpot gameplay, but unfortunately I will need to go elsewhere to play.
Software providers
Accessing top-quality casino games is a must when playing at online casinos like PowerPlay. But, in order for this to happen, the casino must be using top providers.
PowerPlay casino is not the strongest on the Ontario market, there are just two providers on offer. These software developers are the more popular ones: Microgaming and Playtech.
Most of the games come from Microgaming, which means there is a good selection of virtual games as well as slots. However, progressive jackpots are noticeable in their absence here. The live games are all powered by Playtech rather than the more popular Evolution Gaming.

Many top casino software providers such as Evolution Gaming, Realistic Games, Pragmatic Play and the like are all absent. This does mean games like Blackjack Party, Deuces Wild Poker, Realistic Roulette, Dream Catcher and Lightning Roulette are all currently absent.

- Great live software provider
- No Evolution games
Despite having just two providers here, I was happy to see that PowerPlay casino still managed to offer a good mix of different game types. They kept loyal to the big names of Microgaming and Playtech, so I know the quality is good.
The PowerPlay live casino is decent, but is only powered by Playtech — I would have liked to see Evolution in the mix here. I am also disappointed in the lack of jackpots on the site. I hope they will include these in the future.
At the end of the day, yes, I would like to see more providers at PowerPlay but I gave a good score here because the providers it does use offer high-quality games.
Payment methods
PowerPlay casino does not provide a big mix when it comes to the payment methods on offer. Typically, we like to see 10 or more options, while PowerPlay Casino only has three.
On the plus side, these three options offer instant deposits! And, these deposits have a low minimum deposit in place of just C$10 across the board, which is very handy. Like the software, it’s low quantity but high quality.
There’s a decent maximum deposit but only if you use card deposit methods. With Interac, you will have to be content with a lower maximum deposit option, though this is a faster way to get started.
Withdrawals are surprisingly speedy with PowerPlay casino offering a processing time of under four hours. The issue here is that the withdrawal process is then dependent on the method you have chosen.

Interac is still the fastest, though it is limited to just C$3,000 per withdrawal. However, overall, the withdrawal limits are fair and, just like the deposit methods, have a reasonable minimum of C$10 in place.
Payments rating
- Fast processing times
- Low minimum deposit
- Interac available
- Low maximum withdrawal
I found PowerPlay casino solid when it came to the different payment methods on offer. Yes, there aren’t many of them, but they are specific to Canadians which I really liked.
Just like WoW Vegas, there are only three different payment methods available and no eWallet to speak of at all. However, where PowerPlay comes out on top is that it actually offers payment information which WoW Vegas completely lacks.
I was also pleased to find that the minimum for both deposit and withdrawal was just C$10 which is a very good budget amount (it’s got high maximums for deposits for the high rollers).
This put it out in front of Playzee in my opinion. Yes, Playzee has more payment methods, but the minimum deposit is C$20, which is just that higher of a risk. I did dock a few points for fees as although the minimum withdrawal is a nice low C$10, it seems withdrawals are only fee-free if you withdraw C$100 or more.
Nevertheless, I was also pleased to see that PowerPlay casino doesn’t waste time processing any of the payments. A four-hour turnaround is very good in my book and is one of the PowerPlay casino pros.
Safety features
PowerPlay has a full complement of security features in place. First of all, Trillium Ventures Ltd holds an Ontario licence, which is a requirement if its online casino is to legally operate in the province.
Then, the site is also regulated by eCOGRA, which means that all games on offer are fair. Having an audit from a reputable auditor is always good for peace of mind.

I was thrilled with what I found here on PowerPlay casino. All the main security features I looked for were present and correct, which puts this casino on an excellent footing.
I confirmed it is fully audited and does a better job of it than Delta Bingo, which audits itself — something I am not entirely convinced by. For PowerPlay, it’s all done via eCOGRA.
Finding responsible gambling tools was a breeze. I simply popped down to the bottom of the page, and there they all were in the footer. It made a nice change to have it all at my fingertips.
Better still, all the security features are found across all platforms. So, this meant that even on the mobile browser site I was protected. High points here for all of this.
Powerplay casino mobile features
PowerPlay doesn’t have a mobile app in place, but the casino site is fully compatible with your mobile browser. It’s available on all operating systems as well. This means you don’t lose anything when you play on a smaller screen.
And speaking of not missing out, the mobile platform offers all the same games and features as the desktop site. So you can access everything from customer support to the VIP program from your mobile.
The mobile interface matches the desktop in terms of look and design. It’s also fast-loading provided you have a good internet connection, so you won’t find the game dropping out mid-session.

Mobile rating
- Fully mobile compatible
- All games available
- Over 20 live games
- No mobile app
If I am honest, these days, I don’t mind a casino not offering an app. As long as there is a dedicated mobile site, everything is good in my book.
Okay, the issue I have is with the number of games, mobile access is good. For example, a similiar mobile offering comes from BetRivers. Similar to PowerPlay, BetRivers also has no app. But the difference here is that the mobile platform offers more games than the mobile site available from PowerPlay.
Unfortunately, this does make a difference in how I score, but it’s not an issue with the mobile site per se. Instead, this is a problem with the casino overall.
Customer support
For many players, customer support is one of the furthest things from their minds when choosing where to play. But, there should be good support options regardless of how good the overall platform is.
PowerPlay casino has three different contact options on offer. These include an email, live chat and a phone line. There are even various socials you can use to get in touch.
The live chat, and other support options, are available 24/7, so you can reach out whenever you need help. There is no sticky live chat, though.
Response time is fast, particularly if you want to use the live chat. Email can be a bit slower, but is suitable for those more complex queries needing detailed responses.

The PowerPlay casino FAQ is excellent and covers several different topics comprehensively. You can find everything from banking information to how to make a first deposit online.
Support rating
- Phone support
- Quick response time
- Decent FAQs
- No sticky live chat
While some sections on PowerPlay are lacking, I was thrilled that the support is not one of them.
I was thrilled to see that the Ontario version of this site has 24/7 support for live chat and phone support. Although the phone support is not 24/7.
Additionally, the FAQ section is solid, as I mentioned. CasiGO doesn’t even have any FAQs, which puts PowerPlay in front here as there’s complete banking information and more.
There’s nothing more I can ask for here besides having a live chat be sticky. It was a little annoying to always go through the support menu at the top of the page to access it, so I knocked off some points.
Usability
With its dark black and red interface, PowerPlay casino offers a striking design. It is also very easy-to-use thanks to this dark theme.
The layout is straightforward, with all the games neatly categorized. Like other casinos, PowerPlay casino has sections for table games, slots and the live casino.
Along the top, you can find other verticals, including the sports betting platform, live betting, customer support and more.
There is no mobile app for PowerPlay casino. However, the site is fully mobile optimized, which means you can access all slots and table games when you log in via the mobile browser.

Finally, the PowerPlay casino login process is very speedy. Simply click the green ‘Join now’ button and complete all the required details. The site also loads well so there is no lag even on a mobile device.
Usability rating
- Search bar
- Mobile browser
- Navigable layout
- No game filters
- Lacks provider filters
There’s not much for me to fault regarding the layout and design of PowerPlay casino. It’s got all the right features placed in a navigable, intuitive interface across both platforms.
I only found one thing lacking. There are no provider or game filters but there aren’t enough games for this to make an impact. Of course, if more games are to be added down the line, I’d like to see that there are filters put in place. But that’s an issue for another time rather than now.
PowerPlay is easily accessible for all player levels, and, I have to say, I love the dark theme here — there’s no alternative light version, but you’ll never hear that as a complaint from me!
In fact, the dark theme is why I rate it better than Conquestador, which is really great in terms of usability, just let down by the lack of a dark mode. So yes, I am a happy fan of this site design.
