Honest SpinAway casino review for Ontario players

I found the games at Spinaway casino quite impressive. Let me explain! The SpinAway online casino Ontario site has over 1,600 casino games available.

Most games are slots from many providers — more on that later. The big disappointment is the progressives. There are just two, a far cry from the 40+ found at Dream Vegas. 

SpinAway does shine in its live casino section with nearly 40 options provided by Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play. These providers are well-known for their top-quality live dealer games, delivering an immersive and interactive casino experience. However, it’s worth noting that BetVictor seems to outdo SpinAway in this department with over 60 titles, including exclusive options for Ontario players.

In summary, while SpinAway casino offers an impressive variety of games, particularly in the slots category and live casino, there’s potential for enhancement, especially in the progressive jackpot game offerings, to cater to a broader range of player preferences.

SpinAway gets a couple of things right in its choice of software providers, but the fact that games at SpinAway casino are somewhat lacking is in part due to this very selection.

There’s nothing wrong with the quantity — SpinAway’s range of game studios beats the market average of 25 — but this means I missed out out on popular staples by Playtech and Red Tiger, for example.

Of course, this is not to put down the games in other areas of this online casino. I find the presence of virtually unknown providers like Skillzz Gaming a welcome breath of fresh air.

But I do find that a LeoVegas pulls off a better selection with fewer providers (under 20). For example, compare SpinAway’s two Mega Moolah titles by Microgaming to LeoVegas’s 100+-strong catalogue. You’ll find one Thunderstruck title at SpinAway, but five variations at LeoVegas.

Only two providers are manning the live casino section. The better live casinos in Ontario tend to have four, but I will say that Evolution and Pragmatic Play are both market leaders. Both produce high-quality games with professional dealers in place.

With only six payment options available, you’re slightly limited here if you consider that Conquestador and KnightSlots have 10.

That being said, MuchBetter is an option and a good one too, particularly if you’re looking for fast transactions — avoid the bank transfer if this is the case. 

I was annoyed at how little information is provided about the different payment method options. There’s no dedicated payments page and the FAQs are spectacularly unhelpful in this regard. I couldn’t determine basic facts like the minimum deposit limit for each payment method.

To get hold of some of this information, I had to create a casino account and then select the payment method I wanted to use. Only then did I get some answers. I prefer casinos like bet365 or Betano that are more transparent about their payment terms and provide full access to non-registered users.

Similarly, while the Help section explains that all requests are processed in 24 hours (nicely beating out Dream Vegas and its 48-hour pending period, at least), there’s no mention of how long the rest of the transaction will take. On the surface, there’s nothing wrong with what SpinAway offers regarding safety and security. It does check the boxes; it simply doesn’t go above and beyond, and I wouldn’t say I like that. 

For instance, look at LeoVegas, where you can find a whopping 2048-bit RSA on top of the 256-bit SSL encryption. In contrast, SpinAway has just 128-bit, which is adequate but not great. 

Another area where I felt let down was the games. I can assume that most of these providers are reputable, but only a few of the ones here are big names or suppliers I have even heard of. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt here. 

Finally, we come to responsible gambling tools. SpinAway has them in place, including bet limits, cooling off, and self-exclusion. But they don’t make it easy, nor are they very strict. 

If the self-exclusion period is only available for 30 days, is it even exclusion? Other sites, such as BetMGM or 888Casino, have 6-month or even year-long exclusions, which should also be an option. 

Even though SpinAway doesn’t have a dedicated mobile app, I scored it highly here for the sheer usability of the mobile platform. 

A big point favouring the mobile site is that it requires little to no relearning. The mobile website is the same as the desktop site. And, as the desktop site is already very minimalist, this design works well on the small screen. 

I could find all the same table games and slots on the mobile version, just as I could on the desktop site. My only quibble is that there are still minimal game categories and no filters. But when you consider that JackpotCity’s mobile app has compromised on game availability, for example, SpinAway comes out on top.

This is an issue with the overall design rather than the mobile site itself. Surprisingly, despite being low-key, the mobile platform is easily on par with the one Nitro Casino offers for ease of use.

I am ambivalent about SpinAway casino’s support, if I am being perfectly honest here. So, yes, live support is offered daily, but whether this is 24/7 is unclear. Additionally, it’s not a straightforward process, as you have to go through the Help section. 

Ideally, I want to see a sticky live chat so that I can click on it no matter when or where on the site I am. Think Dream Vegas and its supremely accessible live chat; you’ll know what I am looking for here. 

Additionally, while some sites like LeoVegas bombard you with detailed FAQs and Help sections, SpinAway does not. This is an area severely lacking on this casino website. 

There is a Help section, but this is filled with very basic questions and even more basic answers – including the availability of the customer support team! The section should be labelled unhelpful, as it often raises more questions than answers. After all, what does “on hand to assist seven days a week” mean? 

When you get in touch, though, the support is helpful and friendly, which did help to pull up the score here. But in general, this is not one of the site’s best features and could do with some work. 

I feel like I am complaining here but with good reason. Even though SpinAway casino offers a squarely adequate interface, it’s still just that. Adequate. There’s nothing inherently wrong with it; it’s not great, either. 

The site is very minimal and uncluttered. This is far better than dealing with the cluttered mess and complex navigation that JackpotCity offers or the abrupt change in design from the home page to the leading site that Golden Tiger offers. But this minimalism does make the site a little boring. 

I enjoyed that each game section lists the number of games available. And, if you search for a provider, you can see the exact number of games they offer. 

So, my question is, why not have more filters? The system is part way there; it stops short, which frustrates me. Maybe they can add more once they get more settled. 

The simplicity does work for the mobile site, though and does mean that, unlike JackpotCity (again), there were no lags, missing links or dead ends. At least I ended up where I wanted to go. That being said, it’s still a far cry from BetMGM’s impressively intuitive gaming platform.
