Expert verdict

There’s no doubt that the PointsBet Ontario casino has a lot of potential despite being new. Because of the success of their online sports betting, the online casino is expected to grow and dominate the online casino world in Ontario. With superior security and a good number of game providers, users will to have an enjoyable experience.

It’s important to remember that, even though PointsBet has an established reputation as an online sports betting site, it still has a lot to improve on the casino side. Online casino customers are used to a wide variety of games to choose from, and PointsBet’s small game collection is one of its biggest drawbacks.

That being said, PointsBet takes the best of their online sportsbook provision and applies it to the online casino, where you can expect a range of responsible gambling tools and timely customer support. Just make sure you take the time to pick the best titles to play from their small game catalogue.

Editor’s update: November 2025

It’s been a while since we last checked in at PointsBet casino, but a recent visit didn’t give us reason to question this review’s original high rating. From its fledgling library of 60+ games, it now offers 1,400+ games in total. This is the biggest increase in a games library that we’ve seen at a casino within a span of a couple years.

Players can now access over 1200+ slots, 81 of which are Megaways slots. It also has a good variety of game types: 35 slingo, 6 keno, 19 game shows, 8 video poker and 15 crash and instant games. Its table games section could use some expanding though. While it has gone up to 32 games from the original single-digit selection, that’s still around half the Ontario average. The live dealer lobby has also broadened significantly to almost 100 tables.

With such a dramatic expansion of its games library, it’s also not a surprise that PointsBet now partners with 18 software providers, up from the original four. They’ve added heavy hitters like Pragmatic Play, Play n’Go, Hacksaw Gaming, and many others.

It’s not just the games catalogue that has received a facelift; the payment methods offering has also increased from six to eight. This includes the addition of Apple Pay and Google Pay, which are popular and convenient e-wallets.

PointsBet’s highly knowledgeable and helpful customer service (they were able to answer all our questions to a level of detail that’s rare) confirmed that the minimum deposit and withdrawal is still C$5. And there’s no set maximum deposit or withdrawal either. The only thing that would add more flexibility in payments would be one or two more withdrawal methods. Otherwise, no complaints.

The review has been updated to reflect these changes.

PointsBet casino games

There are currently 1210+ online slots and around 30 table games. Both the PointsBet casino app and the desktop site have the same offerings.

There are popular online slots from some of the best gambling software providers in the world, such as IGT, Play n’Go, Blueprint Gaming, and NetEnt. In addition, players can choose from almost 100 live dealer games supplied by Evolution Gaming, a world leader in live casino games.

Other than the PointsBet casino slots, the video poker selection is made up of 8 variations of the game and includes Five Play, Triple Play and Ten Play Draw poker. Expect to find table games like online poker, craps, roulette, blackjack and more.

At almost 1,400 games, PointsBet’s games catalogue falls around the Ontario average. International favourites such as Wheel of Fortune Megaways, Gonzo’s Quest, and Wild Fury are available. I look forward to seeing more providers added so that we can enjoy Novomatic’s Book of Ra and Microgaming’s Mega Moolah.

PointsBet could improve on its table games selection. I’m a big lover of the classics like blackjack and roulette, which comprise most of the games here. I’d like to see the addition of a baccarat game or two, though I was happy that craps and at least six poker tables were included.

For fans of live dealer games, I have some good news. Evolution Gaming’s Live American Roulette, Live American Auto-Roulette, Live Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Infinite Blackjack and Live Speed Baccarat are available. I loved being able to get a piece of the action with different players on the Infinite Blackjack table.

For the best experience, I believe in trying out a game before placing real money bets on it. Fortunately, most of the online slots and video poker games have a demo mode version. For obvious reasons, I couldn’t try out the live dealer games for free.

Casino game software providers

There are 18 software studios represented in total, including well-regarded software providers like IGT, NetEnt, Evolution Gaming and Blueprint Gaming. The Pointsbet live casino is taken care of by Evolution Gaming.

IGT’s Wheel of Fortune Megaways is one of the most popular slot games and you can find it at PointsBet Casino. Also, popular are Evolution Gaming’s Live Table games which have 24/7 live streaming from their state-of-the-art studios.

I was pleased that most of the big names are all present: NetEnt, Play n’Go, Evolution, Pragmatic Play, to name a few. But PointsBet could definitely improve its offer with a few more providers like Betsoft, Playtech, and Microgaming.

One of my favourites, IGT, which makes games for both online and physical casinos, is also represented. At PointsBet, the IGT list of online games includes Baywatch. Siberian Storm, Da Vinci Diamonds, Golden Goddess and Lobstermania. These games have an RTP of between 94.94% to 93.67%, which is on the lower end. This is quite disappointing when you compare to Playtech’s Ugga Bugga which has an RTP of 99.07% RTP.

In terms of Live Games, Evolution Gaming is the sole online software provider. Some of the games available are Live Speed Baccarat, Live Blackjack, Live American Roulette, Live Three Card Poker, Live Lightning Roulette and Dream Catcher. Evolution’s Infinite Blackjack is my favourite, mostly because of its unlimited seating option.

Noticeably missing is also any exclusive software, which would give players extra incentive to return to PointsBet. For example, 888casino has exclusive live tables that can’t be found anywhere else, which is why they’re often one of my first choices when it comes to live games.

PointsBet casino payment options

There are eight online deposit methods available and the transactions are free (at least on the casino side of things). Your bank or financial provider may have their own fees you should be aware of. For online withdrawals, you’ll have 3 options to choose from.

With regards to online deposits, you can use all major debit and credit cards, as well as PayPal and Interac. Trustly, an online banking option that connects directly to your bank, is also available. Google and Apple Pay are both options as well.

On the other hand, online withdrawals exclude payouts onto cards. So, this narrows down your options to Trustly, PayPal and Interac. All of these options can take a few days to complete. Interac withdrawals are usually available within one day, while PayPal withdrawals can take up to two days. Trustly withdrawals take the longest because they are routed through your bank, so you may have to wait 2-3 days.

Payments rating

90/100 A good range of commonly used payment methods
  • Instant payments for deposits
  • Low minimum deposits
  • Fast withdrawals
  • Limited withdrawal options

There are a lot of positives going for PointsBet casino when it comes to payment methods. They accept all major credit and debit cards, and both Apple Pay and Google Pay are available as e-wallets in addition to PayPal. The latter still isn’t widely accepted at Canadian casinos, so I’m always happy to find it listed.

Withdrawal options are a little limited though. With only three options, none of them are credit cards. But it’s not uncommon for Ontario casinos not to offer credit card withdrawals (and when they do, it’s usually only possible with Visa).

But what I love most about PointsBet is that they allow you to deposit and withdraw as little as C$5, and they have no set maximums for deposits or withdrawals. A chat support agent confirmed that PointsBet pays out what players have won, even up to half a million dollars. The low deposit and withdrawal minimums are also great for players who aren’t sure how much they want commit yet.

PointsBet safety features

The PointsBet Casino is officially licensed and regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. It is also featured on the Ontario iGaming site, which lists all online casinos allowed to operate in the Canadian state. These seals of approval are a good first step in keeping you safe.

Your sensitive data, such as your email, ID and so on, as well as your banking details, are kept safe by 128-bit SSL encryption. All financial transactions are also kept safe using the latest encryption technology. This ensures that there’s no interception of details when the payments get processed.

In addition, since the casino is an extension of the well-established sportsbook, you know you’re in safe hands. A good reputation goes a long way when it comes to getting people to trust you, especially when it comes to online gaming with real money.

We all know that licensing and regulation are crucial for online gambling. Fortunately, PointsBet Casino ticks all these boxes. Beyond just checking the licensing information at the footer of the page, I also visited the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and iGaming Ontario to double-check the details.

Also, very impressive is the player protection side of things. This goes beyond the robust encryption software. PointsBet offers two-factor authentication to help you protect your account.

The Play Protection section of the site gives some practical information on how to protect your online account. This includes tips like regularly checking your transaction history and game history, how to file a complaint and how to contact PointsBet if you suspect fraudulent activities.

Furthermore, giving the player the tools they need to manage their betting is great. I especially love the time limits on online gambling. You can set how long you want to be on the site for in order to control how much time you spend gambling.

Mobile app features

The PointsBet mobile app is one of the best around. It took the best parts of the sportsbook and adapted these for the casino. All the features you’ll find on the website are also available, which is very convenient for online players.

Available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple Store, the PointsBet App features the latest software technology for modern smartphones. It was released in July 2021 and has over 5,000 downloads on Google Play Store. For iOS users, the app is only 93MB.

If you don’t want to download the app, you can simply go to the main site via your phone or tablet. The website is mobile-responsive so it automatically adjusts for mobile play. All the games and other functions will be available.

You need to be able to prove that you’re located in Ontario in order to access the PointsBet mobile app. Your phone’s geolocation software is used to verify where you are when you create your account. You need to enable this before you can pace any real money bets on PointsBet.

  • Only 3.4 Android rating

When you play at a Pointsbet casino on your mobile, it is totally different to using the desktop version. Firstly, there is the issue of the smaller screen on your phone. But, PointsBet’s developers have made use to make the experience just as pleasant as the website version.

Adopting the look and feel of the main site gives me the reassurance I need that I’ve downloaded the right app. The online navigation options are the same, with the deposit button very prominent. This makes finding what I’m looking for a lot easier.

One thing that gave me pause is the fact that the Android app only has a 3.4 rating (by 900+ users) on Google Play. But it has a significantly higher rating on iOS, at 4.4 based on 1.800+ ratings, which is twice as many ratings as the Android app has. So hopefully PointsBet will work on ironing out any issues with the Android app.

Again, just like the website version, there aren’t a lot of options when it comes to online game selection. You can forget about the live game offerings for now — you’ll have to stick to the many variations of video slots and other table games.

I didn’t have to create a new account when I downloaded the app. Instead, I simply used the desktop log-ins. Because I’d enable two-factor authentication, I had to use an additional code to log in. It wasn’t too hectic. Within a few minutes, I had access to my account.

PointsBet customer support

A crucial part of online gaming is having reliable online customer support. This is a lifeline for many gamblers if something goes wrong. The online casino world is unlike a physical casino where you can just find a manager to talk to.

PointsBet Casino has made it as easy as possible for customers to get help when they need it. With a number of online contact options available to you, you can expect quick responses from the well-trained customer support team at PointsBet Casino.

You have three options when it comes to getting in touch with them: email, live chat and phone, so just pick what’s most comfortable for you. Some people prefer to speak to someone, and so, they can give them a call.

If you’re comfortable with texting, the live chat option is great. You can even send them screenshots of the problems you’re experiencing. Emails are also a good option if you’re not in a hurry to get a response. All online options are available 24/7.

The Facebook and Twitter social media accounts are another good option to contact customer support. Sending a DM (or inbox message) will also get you assistance from the customer support team. Also, remember to check the FAQ section for quick answers to common queries.

Support rating

94/100 Responsive and helpful
  • Multiple contact options
  • Generally quick responses
  • Inconsistent waiting times
  • FAQs focused on sports

Right, I believe an online casino’s customer support is one of the most important aspects of the site experience. PointsBet Casino’s customer service does not disappoint. It’s probably the same team that works on the sportsbook, so it makes sense that they’d be responsive and helpful.

When I called the number, there was a bit of a long waiting period before I got to speak to someone, but they were very helpful. I get nervous about speaking to someone on the phone, but they made me feel comfortable with their verification questions to make sure I was the owner of the account I called about.

The Live Chat was also great. Since it is an on-platform form of communication, it’s quick and easy to get help. When I sent my message, I was a bit annoyed that a bot was the first thing to get back to me, but in less than a second “Randy” was ready to help me.

Then there’s the email option. I’m not sure why anyone would choose it over the Live Chat, but it’s there if you need it. Maybe if you have a long story to tell about a problem you’ve had for a while, you’ll be willing to wait for the “up to 24 hours” to get a response.

Site and mobile usability

The ability to navigate a site with ease is crucial for customer satisfaction. If you’re frustrated, you’ll simply go elsewhere. PointsBet Casino has taken the time to take the best of their sportsbook’s design and functionality and applied this to the casino.

The Live Dealer games are a prominent feature. On the app, so if you’re a fan of these, it’s easy to find them. The featured online games make it easy for you to find the most popular slots out of their small range.

Usability rating

93/100 Easy to navigate, but can be a bit slow
  • Useful search function
  • Quick sign-up process
  • Featured games filtering
  • Filtering too generic
  • Sportsbook takes priority

Let’s start at the very beginning. Signing up is super easy on PointsBet Casino. There are only two steps to creating your online account. The first is a page with 3 fields for your first name, last name and email. On the next page, expect to provide a password and to verify your age via a government-issued ID.

I noticed that when you sign up, you’re actually registering for both the PointsBet sportsbook and the casino. This can get confusing for someone who is only there to play online slots and table games. It might also distract them from focusing on the new casino once they log in. It’s not uncommon among the competition, even LeoVegas offers sports in tandem with casino… but sometimes we just want to play some slots and that’s why I prefer casinos like PlayOJO

Anyway, when it comes actually to finding what you’re looking for, it’s very easy. This is likely because there are so few games to choose from on the site. Whether you use the search function to find a specific game name, or you literally scroll through the list, you’ll be playing within a few seconds.

Since a lot of their UX is based on the Pointbet sportsbook, you’re assured of a smooth process as you navigate around the Pointsbet website. That’s the big pro. The big con, on the other hand, is that the sportsbook takes priority on the Pointsbet website, so the online casino feels like an after-thought for them.

FAQs

Is PointsBet Casino worth it?

Despite a small number of games for you to choose from, Pointsbet Casino is worth it. It rides off the good reputation of the PointsBet sportsbook, so you’re assured of a great online gambling experience. However, be aware that there is a small catalogue of online games. Less than 70. But this is expected to rise in the coming months. The quality of those games, however, is some of the best. Expect to see top titles from leading online software providers.

Is PointsBet Casino legal in Canada?

Residents over the age of 19 are allowed to gamble on PointsBet Casino in Ontario, Canada. This is the only state that currently allows PointsBet to operate legally in the country. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario issues licenses and regulates this and other casinos in the state. In addition, PointsBet is a member of the Ontario iGaming regulators. To verify this information, you can check their online licensing information on the footer of the PointsBet page.

How long does PointsBet take to payout?

It can take between 1 to 5 business days to get your cash when you make an online withdrawal from PointsBet Casino. The length of time depends on the withdrawal method you chose. The shortest waiting period is for payments made to PayPal or via e-check. These can take 1 to 2 business days. Online bank transfers, though take much longer. You might end up waiting up to 5 business days before you get your payouts from the online casino.

Are there a lot of games on PointsBet Casino?

Unfortunately, when you compare PointsBet to other online casinos, their range of games is very disappointing. They only have about 60 games in total. This number includes only 5 live dealer games and a few table game titles. Bigger online casinos will have thousands of slots and hundreds of table games waiting for you. The only saving grace PointsBet has is that the games they do have are from leading software providers.

Can I play PointsBet Casino on my phone?

Yes, you can download the PointsBet mobile app onto your phone and play from there. It’s available for Android and iOS users and can be downloaded from the respective app store. Alternatively, you don’t have to download the Pointsbet casino app. You can go to your phone’s browser and search for PointsBet casino Canada. The site is mobile responsive, so you’ll still get an excellent user experience. All the features of the main site are available on the mobile versions.
