That being said, make that first deposit, and you only have to deposit NZ$2 to claim it, which is far better than Excitewin’s 6x requirements and NZ$40 to claim its first deposit welcome bonus. I’ll take 22Bet over this, so it gets a higher score.

Unbelievably, 22Bet has 46 different sports available, while the king of sports betting, bet365, has 43. Yes, it’s a close-run thing, but it’s still a win for 22Bet, so I’ve given points accordingly.
Betway is far off this mark with 35, though it does offer quite a lot in the way of unique markets. But still, the eSports reign supreme on 22Bet.

In short, if you want to place a bet, then 22Bet does stand out here. You can place bets on almost anything you can think of, too, so there are big points here.

Additional market details: Football is among the more popular sports on the 22Bet betting site. It’s got the most betting markets available and covers leagues and events worldwide. Not only that, but you can enjoy virtual football bets too.

Additional market details: Racing in all forms is also very popular here. There are many live streaming options and in-play betting markets you can wager on. Events aren’t just from New Zealand and Australia; there are races from Asia, the UK, Europe and the US.

I was happy to see that this is another section where 22Bet excelled. There is a huge selection of betting tools here, and these cover all the main options and more.

For instance, betting on a live game or match is possible. Better still, I could watch a live stream for many events to see the action unfold. This is not a possibility at Stake.

I will say that overall, 22Bet is very similar to PlayZilla in that they both offer virtual sports. However, if you want a VR bet, there are only two sports on PlayZilla compared to nine on 22Bet.

I am also a big fan of the bet slip, which made it very easy to place any bet of my choice. It’s a case of a quick click to add the new bet to your slip and change the stake you want to place.

I could easily add more bets to create accumulators. And it is possible to change the odds format in the bet slip, not just on the main site where the odds are displayed.

Additional features: Placing a bet on a virtual game is something you shouldn’t pass up here as there are many options. These VR games are operated by nine different providers, giving you access to exciting simulated sports events. Rather surprisingly, this is the lowest score I’ve given in this 22Bet review. But it is for a good reason, so let me explain. First, it’s got a good score because, mostly, the odds are competitive.

While Royal Panda odds are above 95.2, I will say I am not quibbling here when 22Bet has 95.19% – they’re the same and the reason this score stays in the 80s.

The marks come off when it comes to the live betting odds. Typically, these drop a couple of percentage points, but it shouldn’t be four!

And I know it’s possible to have high live odds, as William Hill admirably demonstrates, with live odds around 95%. I can’t justify the 91% odds from 22Bet at this point.

However, as the odds are above average elsewhere on the site, I keep up that high score and hope that those live odds can increase to boost this score as well.

I was amazed by the sheer number of payment options available. I don’t think I have ever been presented with 50+ payment methods for making my first deposit. But there’s a first for everything.

Previously, I thought Winz.io, with 21 payment methods, was the pinnacle, but no. I also really like the fact that 22Bet makes sure that there are a large number of options for both withdrawals and deposits across fiat money and crypto options.

I wasn’t even disheartened by the TAB’s lower minimum deposit of NZ$0.01. And this is because I think NZ$2 from 22Bet is incredibly reasonable.

The fact that this is all you need to claim a bet bonus is also one of the reasons I have kept my 22Bet review score so high. In short, it’s awesome, and I have no complaints.

As expected, 22Bet does tick all the boxes regarding security. At this point, though, I didn’t expect anything less, so let’s dive in and see what it offers.

If I have to be picky, I will say that the 256-bit encryption protocol is great. It still ensures everything is secure, but Ladbrokes has better security with its 2046-bit, so it could be done better.

PlayUp has 128-bit, unlike 22Bet, but it has an Aussie licence from NTRC rather than the Curaçao licence held by 22Bet. It’s not comparable, so I’m not knocking off any points here.

In the future, to bump up the score, I’d like to see better security and maybe some more unique security features in place. Some more personalized, responsible gambling options would help here, too.

If it’s not clear by now, then it should be. Yes, I am giving great scores across the board for 22Bet because, quite simply, it deserves it on all fronts.

I dropped the score for this category, as there are only two different contact options here. In contrast, 888Sport has a phone too, which would be nice to see here in future.

I was also a little underwhelmed by the FAQs 22Bet offers. Yes, they do cover the main topics, but none of them is done so in any detail. I had to get in touch to find out about payment methods, for example, as there is a dearth of information on the site.

That being said, getting in touch is easy and yes, SportsBet, unlike yours, the support staff were fast to respond and ultra helpful. They helped keep this score where it is, and deservedly so.

This is probably one of the lower scores in my 22Bet review, and I do not give this lightly. But first, let’s take a look at the positives here.

The 22Bet app is excellent, mirroring the main site well. However, you can only download the 22Bet app from the website directly – it’s not available at either of the app stores, so don’t go looking.

In terms of design, I like the colour scheme, and this soft teal is far better than the annoying acres of white space the LeoVegas site uses to create a clean, modern look.

However, I dropped a few points off here as 22Bet is cluttered. There are many betting markets, bonuses, odds, sports categories, etc. It isn’t evident. Give me the simpler MyBookie interface any day.
