Reactoonz slot review summary

Reactoonz takes you to outer space where you play on a 7×7 grid filled with one or two-eyed cute looking toonz. The slot is colorful, playful, and highly animated. From the toonz blinking and glowing, to the laser beams that shoot out of the quantum bar on the side.

The slot is gamified further with its engaging bonus features. The Quantum Leap is the strongest one, producing a further four features: Implosion, Demolition, Incision, and Alteration. Each of these creates a win or an opportunity for a win in its own funky way.

Besides that, Reactoonz has a friendly RTP of 96.5% paired with high volatility. A good combination that balances itself out, although I’d always watch out for high volatility. As for payouts, the highest-paying symbol can award a payout of $75,000 for 15 symbols or more, when you’re playing on the maximum bet of $100.

Pros

  • Lucrative and frequent bonus features

  • Good value for average wins

  • 96.5% RTP

Cons

  • High volatility not ideal for low-rollers

  • No free spins

  • No progressive jackpot

Reactoonz comprehensive review

In my Reactoonz slot review, I’ll be breaking down the critical areas of this slot, so that you’ll be informed before playing. That includes the Reactoonz slot RTP and volatility, its symbols and payouts, and all the bonus features. Plus, I’ll also explain how the slot works and how to play it.

RTP and volatility

Reactoonz has an RTP of 96.5% and high volatility. The game is played on a 7×7 grid, where wins can happen anywhere on the board, as long as there are adjacent matching symbols both horizontally and vertically. This is known as cluster wins.

When cluster wins occur, the cascading reels kick into action. This means that the symbols that form part of a win disappear, and new symbols fall into the empty symbol positions, potentially resulting in further wins.

Reactoonz’ RTP is 96.5% which is around the industry average. It’s always a good sign to find slots with an RTP of 96% or higher, because it means the house edge is lower and the game will hopefully be more balanced.

The slot does have high volatility, but when I played it, it didn’t feel that way. I’d say this leans more on the medium side. The great thing about cluster wins is that they tend to trigger other wins nearby, since once the cascading reels mechanic happens, fresh symbols appear. The 7×7 grid is great for both these mechanics, since it’s got more surface area, increasing the chances of more adjacent matching symbols.

Still, with high volatility slots, you need to watch out when placing higher bets, as you could go quite a few spins without landing a win, ultimately draining your bankroll.

Bonus features

Reactoonz is packed with bonus features, 10 to be exact!

Bonus featuresWilds, Instability, Quanum Leap, Gargantoon, Giantooz, Fluctuation
Top featuresGargantoon

Instability

If there’s an initial spin where no wins occur, there’s a chance for the Gargantoon on the right of the grid to drop four to eight Wilds on the reels.

Wilds

The Wild symbol is the spinning space vortex. This only appears on the reels when Instability or the Quantum Leap features are activated. It substitutes for all paying symbols.

Quantum Leap

Quantum Leap contains four of its own bonus features. On the right of the grid, above the Gargantoon, there’s the quantum bar. This charges with every consecutive win, adding one of the four features to the queue after winning with 25 symbols in one spin. Up to four features can be queued at once, and the features will trigger only when no more wins are possible.

  • Implosion: transforms three to six symbols into Wilds, while also destroying any adjacent symbols.
  • Demolition: destroys all one-eyed symbols and all matching symbols.
  • Incision: cuts a Wild symbol into the center, and creates two intersecting diagonal lines across the grid. Both lines will hold the same symbol, which has been chosen randomly.
  • Alteration: chooses one one-eyed symbol, and all matching symbols will transform into another symbol.

If the Quantum Leap charges up to five, the fifth feature will always be the Gargantoon.

Gargantoon

The Gargantoon will appear on the grid, taking up 3×3 symbol positions as a Wild. It will then start to divide and move with each cascading win. First into two 2×2 Wilds and then finally into nine individual Wild symbols.

Giantoonz

If there are four matching symbols near each other in a square shape, they will automatically form a Giantoon. Wins will automatically be doubled for any wins that a Giantoon forms part of.

Fluctuation

In each spin, a random one-eyed symbol is marked as a fluctuating symbol. If any of the fluctuating symbols form part of the winning combination, they will leave two Wilds in their place.

Reactoonz has a cool selection of bonus features. I like that they’re innovative and perfectly match the theme of the slot. Plus, they make for pretty engaging gameplay.

Free spins are missing from this selection, but I don’t think that’s a problem when the bonus features available offer such a range and create plenty of opportunities for wins and Wilds anyway. There’s almost always one or another feature in motion, since the features are either triggered by a lack of wins or by multiple cluster wins.

I never managed to trigger the Gargantoon. It takes quite a few cluster wins to charge the Quantum Bar to the fifth level, and the most I managed was two features at a time, maybe three. That might get frustrating but there’s enough going on in the slot to keep things interesting.

Symbols and paytable

Reactoonz has eight paying symbols. The low-paying symbols are the one-eyed toonz, while the high-paying symbols are the two-eyed toonz.

There are the yellow, green, orange, and purple one-eyed toonz. The yellow and green toonz have the same payout values, awarding $0.10 for five symbols on a bet of $1 and $3 for 15 or more symbols.

The orange and purple one-eyed toonz have the same payout values, too. For five symbols, the payout is $0.15 on a bet of $1, and for 15 or more symbols, the payout is $10.

The higher paying symbols are the two-eyed blue, orange, green, and purple toonz. The orange two-eyed toon awards a payout of $0.60 for five of a kind and $150 for 15 or more on a bet of $1.

The two-eyed purple toon is the highest paying symbol in the game. When the bet is set to $1, the payout for five symbols is $1. When you land 15 or more symbols, the payout is $750. If you play on the maximum bet of $100, that payout jumps to $75,000.

The payouts on Reactoonz are quite good, and what I like the most is that there’s a clear increase in value with each symbol. The two lowest paying symbols award a payout of $3 for 15 symbols, but with the next two symbols, the payout for the same number of symbols jumps to $10.

The maximum payout for the highest-paying symbol sits at $75,000, which is fantastic. Compare it with NetEnt’s Jack Hammer slot, for instance. The maximum bet on Jack Hammer is $250, much lower than Reactoonz’ $100. However, the maximum win with the highest-paying symbol on Jack Hammer, is $10,000. So a much higher maximum bet, but a substantially lower maximum payout.

You’ll need to make careful and well-planned bets when you’re playing at that level, since this slot’s high volatility could work against you.

How to play the Reactoonz slot

Reactoonz is played on a bet range of $0.20-$100. You can adjust your bet by selecting one of the bet options at the bottom of the game window. There are plus and minus symbols for you to scroll through the options, too.

The bets start at $0.20, $0.40, $0.60, $0.80, and $1.00. After that, the increments are much larger, with bets of $1.20, $1.60, $2.00, and $3.00, continuing until it reaches the maximum bet of $100.

The spin button is on the far right of the bet buttons, and next to it there’s the autoplay button. Autoplay has options for 10, 20, 50, 75, and 100 autospins. There are also additional settings that allow you to stop if your wins, balance, or losses exceed a certain amount.

The ‘i’ button contains the paytable along with an explanation of all the bonus features available in Reactoonz.

Expert verdict

All in all, Reactoonz is a great choice for a slot for any player. For greener players, the bet range starts low enough for you to find your footing and get used to the mechanics of cluster wins. It’s also a fun introduction to larger grid formations, moving away from the classic 5×3 grid.

For high-rollers, although you might be used to playing at maximum bets higher than $100, Reactoonz has a great bet-to-payout ratio, giving you the room to play for bigger wins.

The bonus features create plenty of action for more veteran players, too, keeping things interesting. They’re fresh and innovative, and I love to see a feature that isn’t a recycled free spins round or a multiplier. There’s a strong gamification element here that will make the features feel less daunting to a less experienced player, too.

Reactoonz hits many of the right boxes, including its friendly RTP. The only point I’d watch out for is the high volatility that could catch you off guard.
